Interesting, I didn't know that was how it works. It seems to work fine for me, I tried out a few combos, and the two I use the most complained first, the two I use the least complained second.

Yep! I didn't pick Wrex and he whined. So did EDI. haha...    I saw the video of EDI on you tube. "I'm okay!" Had me laughing so much!

I'm surprised Garrus or Tali didn't speak up. Maybe the did... can't remember.  I only used them on their planet missions.

I mainly used Liara, Javik, Ashley and Vega.

Wrex actually complained he wanted to go on one of my primary files. Ashley was the one apparently never picked.

My Tali-LI Shep (taking Tali and Wrex) as expected had Garrus whining he wanted to go and again Ashley wondering why she is never picked.

Edit: I saw earlier post explaining if Wrex is around he will complain if not picked

It seems to be the first squaddie that speaks up is the most frequently used one that isn't picked while the one that complains about not getting picked ever is the one that, well, the player never picks.

EDIT: Just so I don't sound stupid, I posted this after only reading about 2/3 of page one, before we had confirmation of the formula.

I took Garrus on the infiltration mission, after which Wrex asked me why I didn't want him to be my date, and wanted to know if my Shepard thought he was just too much krogan for her.

I laughed.

And then I made sure to take Wrex along on every single part of the Citadel mission after that. (Has anyone taken him on the date? That has to be hilarious.)

2nd playthrough was Garrus and robot
3rd playthrough was T'Soni and Javik

I picked Wrex and EDI and Garrus and Javik complained. Always bring EDI with me

Javik is an avowed troll. He walks off the Normandy for everyone.

I remember taking him on one mission for the entire game, and sure enough, he came bouncing off the Normandy after Joker and Kaidan.

(Maybe Dusty knows the logic for who comes out at the end? I think our best guess ended up being an invisible friendship or usage counter, but people reported reloading and going through the ending again and having different people come out.)

The files check the friendship counter.

I don't get it either. I've had Kaidan carry my plaque for a Mirimancer, but Javik follow Joker out, and Garrus come out later.

Tali got it in mine. And with good cause.

Minus the run in ME1 I did to get her achievement, I only used Tali on 2 missions in the entire trilogy.

Her LM, and the Rannoch mission.

If I may add, I think the mechanics behind this dialog is brilliant. Great job, BioWare.

I rushed through the play through with Wrex as date - using pre end save for full party- but there is save just before so can restart mission with all characters to see opening. Wrex wears a fancy suit and complains but non LI Tali and James are funniest too me.

Heh, I got that Javik line, and Wrex pouted when I didn't pick him. I felt bad for both of them (although their delivery was great and made me laugh). However, I felt that I was going to need Liara's Warp during that last sequence.
