According to one poster on the wiki page Siobhan Hewlitt also supposedly confirmed she was Maya Brooks back in 2013.
I'm curious now whether she did play Brooks and the IMDB page is wrong. Is there anyone else who has an account on Twitter that can confirm that the recent tweet exists?

IMDB, like wikipedia and TV tropes, can be edited by users. It's not 100% accurate.

Really? I wasn't aware of that, I thought IMDB was maintained by staff working for the site and/or people in the industry themselves.

They have a staff that works and maintains the site, like Wikipedia, but the vast majority of the content is put up by volunteer users and regular users. I've put up material over obscure actors and films a few times. People in the industry themselves wouldn't have the time or patience to bother with the site.

A lot of times fan rumors end up being posted on IMDB because like Wikipedia, it is edited by volunteer users. For the longest time before the films were released, the page for the Hobbit films for example had Ron Perlman listed as Beorn. Ron Perlman was never attached to the project; He was just the name fans thought would be perfect for the role. Someone who edited the IMDB page for the films confused fan hype and rumors for fact.

Ditto: Yvonne Strahovski was listed back in early-2011 as playing Ms. Marvel in 'The Avengers'. That obviously never happened, but it was there due to an unconfirmed rumor that she had been approached to play the part.
