How do you put stat points in Shale? The first time i had Str and Con on par (ended around 50-50 can't remember exactly), now i'm trying to put all points on Con. Did someone tried using Dexterity?

DEX will help her hit successfully, but that is a good question. Crystals make her better and until you get Brilliant ones, she isn't that great. CON and STR start out high, so yuo can either go WILL so you can use more special attacks, or go DEX and assure hitting success. Dont' forget to talk her up and get the approval up. You get a massive STR bonus. So you can actually put points into DEX or WILL due to the STR bonus.

Just remember that the best crystals need 38 Strength/Constitution., so I would aim for that first. After that, you can pretty much prograss howver you want. I'd go with strength if you use her offensively and either con or dex if you use her as tank, probably dex as 38 con is already LOTS of health.

Benefits of Dexterity
* Increases attack score in melee combat by 0.5 for each point purchased.
* Increases attack score in ranged combat by 1 for each point purchased.
* Increases damage from piercing weapons.
* Increases defense by 1 for each point purchased.
* Increases physical resistance by 0.5 for each point purchased.
* Prerequisite for some weapon talents.

Yeah I mean if you want to be an offensive player you need DEX to even hit successfully so I would advocate that it is an improtant investment.

No you don't. Strength benefits your attack score at EXACTLY the same ratio as Dex. And Strength boosts your damage as well. So if you want to be offensive, go strength.

I did not think STR affected your chance to hit. What about ranged weapons?

Personally, I used Shale as a tank, therefore I went for DEX and CON (more 50-50), and just enough STR to equip her with the top-tier crystals. As for crystals, they granted +4 and +2 health combat regen: I never needed to heal her or use potions (I did not even use the +40% fire resistance crystal when fighting dragons, as a greater fire res potion and the massive helath regen performed much better).

38 str, 38 con, rest into dex or str.

Why is Seth calling Shale a she?
So, str also determines to hit correct? I'm guessing it counts just as much? I am wielding a two hand weapon with my warrior, he seems to miss a lot for having 50 str. Dex is like 22 I think.

See thats what I don't get either. I think they both count for successful hits. Stabbath123, have you not finished the Shale side quest?

That's normal. 2handed weapons miss a lot early in the game. You simply lack the +5 attack from dual weapon finesse. Also, you'll notice misses WAY more frequently since your attack speed is so slow that every miss hurts. I just finished the game with a 2handed warrior and trust me: It'll get better.Stabbath123 wrote...

Oh, and DON'T use Powerful Swings, especially not in the beginning of the game. The -10 attack penalty will totally screw your hit chance and it gets only slightly better with two-handed strenght which reduces the penalty to -5.
Once more for clarification:
Strength and Dex BOTH add 0.5 per point to your attack score. You can actually evem read this in the ingame description of the stats. It doesn't matter whether you split your points on a level up 3/0, 2/1, 1/2 or 0/3 between dex and str. You'll always get +1,5 to your attack rating. But since Str also adds damage it's simply put the superior stat of the two for an offensive warrior, while dex is better for tanks due to defence.
