I had read that all you had to do was reach a score of 9,999 on the Armax Arena, but I have done so and have seen no unlock. No email, no token in the stores to redeem it for, and it's not automatically added to my inventory. What gives? Is this a multiplayer-dependant armor set?

one of the side-missions pretty much guarantees top score and completing that gives you the choice of one of the 3 phantom armours.

I did all the Armax Arena quests, buyed _all the things_ in the arena's shop (using the bronze/silver/gold points) and then after some quests or along the way, you will get the armor for free. Just play a lot of arena and buy the unlocks.

Edit: Could also be possible that you get it if scoring more than 9999 points. I don't know exactly.

Click on the set of armour in the display case in the Armax store after scoring 9,999 points. You'll choose one of three sets (identical appearance, different stats) and it will be added to your armour locker.

Bingo.

I found it pretty easy to get during the reapers super-elite mission for the help a dream kid. In fact I have yet to score less than 10,000 when fighting super-elite reapers.

if you're a power based class it's pretty easy to boost your score a bit by taking an easy penalty like no thermal clip drops.

I find reapers super elite no thermal clips using a Lancer quite easy.

Edit: add Extended Magazine and some armor piercing

Simple setup is no ammo, and no medi-gel, reapers, super elite on the map of your choice. Easy 10K. Having a Lancer on Shep is a big help when no ammo modifier is on. Pair that with the extended clip and HVB. You'll be shredding enemies like they were swiss cheese.

EDIT: Op, just so you're aware, when you do get the opportunity to unlock the phantom armor, look at the stats of the three choices first so that you can take the one that suits your current Shep the most. A heavily power dependent class might want to take the spirit armor, if you want a well rounded armor, take the shade one, if you want a more weapon heavy stat one take the nightmare one.

Unforutunately, nothing in the store is selectable after I get the 9,999+ score.

Will do, but the problem is that I'm not getting the option to obtain the armor.

Did you get all the modifiers?

Yep, I bought all of the modifiers. There's nothing left for me to unlock.

ETA: I see that by looking at the Achievements list that there is some sort of side quest regarding the Arena that I have yet to see. Do I have to obtain and complete this side quest to get the armor?

Did you check the "e-mail in the Arena mission system? it's not the same as Shepards regular E-mail.

Then you have to pick up the armor next to the counter where they sell the gold tier rewards. It's one of those manequins you have to click.

I think it's part of the side-quest chain, you should get a few emails about testing variables once you break the 9999 score. Then it's a matter of "collecting" the armour on the display case near the reward terminals (which isn't really explained to you, you just have to walk and click on it).

Have checked the Armax Arena email. :-)

Have not received any emails yet. Maybe I have to do a few more missions yet.

Or you could just have a squad of characters with particle rifles or Lancers

The problem isn't getting scores of 10,000+, as I've already done that at least 4 times already. It's the fact that I'm not receiving any email and/or the display case isn't opening up.

I'm pretty sure I got the armour before I bought everything else since it's not even tied into the reward system. It's basically something you get for helping the Armax people work out the kinks in their system (the e-mail in question will mention a reward but you have to pick it up). There's a series of e-mails that will ask you to test different maps/enemies/etc. but they might only unlock as you do other e-mail related quests in the Armax arena. Really wish I could remember the proper sequence of things but if you keep doing stuff thats requested in the Armax e-mails, you should get the armour eventually.

I'm pretty sure you have to get 9,999 playing Mirror Match. That's how I got mine.

If you play on PC, there is the gibbed save editor. You can get the 3 cerberus armors without doing the armax arena even once (debug).

It should've popped the first time you got 9999, you don't have to do anything special- I had just unlocked elite level opponents, so I was trying those out. And after the match, to my surprise I heard the achievement unlocked noise. Unfortunately, the screen changed before it actually showed what achievement I just got. So, I was totally confused at first, then as I was going to redeem my prizes, I passed by the score board and saw I hit 9999.

Went back down, checked my e-mail in the arena system, and I got an apology e-mail saying they'll give me some armor for my trouble. After that, the blue objective arrow popped up pointing me to that case by the reward redemption kiosk, clicked on it, and got my choice of the armors.

So if the e-mail didn't pop up immediately for you, not sure what's going on.
