Who in their right mind would even suggest something like paying for origin? OP, take this thread away before you give EA any ideas, and I'm not even joking.

Say it's $10/month, what would the subscribers get out of the deal?

Upgraded/dedicated servers?
New Content?
Map Maker toolset?
Discount at the store?
In lobby text chat?

I'll be honest, I know this game won't be around forever, and I would be tempted to pay a monthly to keep it going, but as it stands right now, there aren't enough incentives for me

Absolutely NOT.

You would be paying for features considered STANDARD on other services and games.

Hell no. We'd be paying for stuff that's normally expected to be there from the start.

Not to disrespect your view and opinion, but even if they implemented the content you mention i will not pay to play a game i allready have payed for, some of those features you mention would be nice.
However, the store does allready have discounts on games from time to time.
Would the new content be free? (i asume you mean content for the games you own) otherwise you would pay to have extra content where you have to pay for  in order to install it.
A map maker toolset would be nice, but how i see it, is that you still have to pay for expanding their game, wich you have bought allready, such features has to come with the game imo, i'm willing to pay more for a game if such tools are implemented.
For me that leaves only the text chat, and ~10$ a month for a text chat is a bit expensive imo.
Dedicated servers a mandatory for any company launching a game with MP features. People pay for their entire product and that means they have to make sure said product can be used properly, otherwise it's like buying a car and have to pay extra to have a stearingwheel installed.
This is just my opinion on your post, and  this topic (my previous post in this thread was a bit blunt, so i took this oportunity to be a bit more civilised (i hope :innocent:)

Maybe if they fixed the issues it currently has and maybe add party chat like xbox does and to message anyone etc...

Wat you think?

These kinds of things are in Steam and UPlay, and Games For Windows Live. Without subscription.
Once they add a Gift function to Origin, I'll be perfectly happy to say I like it as much as Steam.

Micro$oft can get away with charging a subscription for Xbox Live, because the only alternatives are other consoles, or PC.
Games For Windows Live has so many alternatives (and PC versions of multi-platform games moving away from it), that charging a subscription for it would harm sales of games on PC more than draconian DRM and over-hyped buildup for a game. The same goes for if Origin had a paid-for subscription.

I would be okay paying a premium if I got some kind of premium bonuses/content in the end. I doubt ME3 MP was planned around those things, they might show up in some form for ME4.

Actually, if I had to predict anything, I would say they might implement some kind of season pass program

I would be ok with Origin if EA allowed us to get their games through Steam until they got the service worked out. As is it is nothing but a constant reminder of the disappointment that is EA

I'm just going to point out that everything has to go through Origin in order for you to even play singleplayer. XBL is only for multiplayer.

Not to mention, if the Origin servers were only used for matchmaking on the PC instead of DRM checks, you'd probably see a marked improvement in gameplay quality. But sadly EA thinks draconian DRM actually does something other than ****** off paying customers.

I didn't want to install it to begin with. Neither did literally ANYONE ELSE. So, no. Nobody alive now or ever is interested in a paid-for Origin.

Considering that Origin was released in 2011 and that Steam was released in 2003, I'd just say wait a year or two for the kinks to get ironed out.

I seem to recall Steam being a piece of crap around 2005.

No.

XBOX Live should have been free in the first place.
