Well if the recent news about EA implementing micro-transactions into all of their games going forward, then alternate appearance packs, armour packs, weapons packs etc would seem to be a likely avenue for future ME games.

I'm certain the ME team are working on something. EA/Bioware can't afford to pay an entire team of developers to sit around doing nothing. Some of the ME team shifted to DA3, while others are probably working on a secret, unannounced project that won't be announced for at least 12 months. Just my guess.

OR... layoffs.

They've already confirmed that they're developing a new IP for next-gen... So hopefully no layoffs are involved at this point. 

If this new IP, DA3, and ME"4 but not 4" tank though... They might be in trouble.

As far as I know, a lot of the ME team got moved to DA and TOR.

EA's still trying to save that shipwreck. I don't know, in the summer, I might pick it up again to take my thoughts off of ME.

Montreal (and Hudson, blegh) are the ones working on ME4. Don't much care either. No more Shepard means no more Mass Effect for me.

Citadel was a very emotional send-off for Shepard, but there's still the matter of the endings. As great as it is, Citadel is still pre-ending.

Too bad. I would have liked some more appearance packs but apparently they don't sell.

What is BioWare doing wrong that weapon skins for Gears of War are big sellers but appearance packs for Mass Effect, an RPG where you can customize your character, aren't?

Yes, I know that ME is more than just Shepard, but for me that was the most important part. Shepard, the Normandy, and her crew.

Assuming they treat the universe well, there's no reason BioWare can't come up with a new set of characters that are just as compelling as Shepard and friends. After all they did it once already.

Yup. Mass effect 3 dlc is over. There will be no more dlc. Next game is dragon age 3 and at some point a mass effect 4.

3 is done.

There is another game as well but that one has yet to be announced.
