Ya know, maybe everyone should stop downloading it if it is screwing up the specializations.

I was assuming that this DLC was going to have achievements, mine doesn't, could this also point to the possibility that is was leaked by Microsoft and not an official release, or was there no achievements for RTO anyway?

by the sounds of things PS3 only update their marketplace on Thursdays....it also seems that the 360 release was premature.

At the time it wasnt misleading, the content was available for download for the 360 and at the time I assumed it would be across all platforms.

Since then the DLC has been removed from downloading leading us to believe it was mistakenly made available.

I have read every post on here and still have no idea whats going on as I am at work. So from the looks of it RTO got released early and now has locked up specializations on peoples games. Well, I shant be downloading it until it's announced and its confirmed safe. Sorry to those who got whacked by this. Now what is this xbox patch? I've read about it on here and still not sure what it is supposed to fix. The DEX Archery thing. Any info would be magnificent.

the patch that is supposed to be released today fixes only achievements.

Still waiting on RtO on PC here.
Simply explained to you that console gaming/developing and kowtowing to consoles over PC's will eventually drive PC sales into the ground.  If/When that happens it no longer becomes profitable to develop for the PC.  Afterall this is a business driven by profit.

Consoles are simpler, these days if you want a gaming machine you have to pay a thousand or more, and thats if you know where to get the parts, how to put it together, and then theres software. A console is maybe $300, and then the games are 60$ like on the PC, its just better for the average guy.

If they made a console that had software as flexible as a PC, PC gaming would be gone.

It isn't the software flexibility.  It is the hardware flexibility that makes a PC superior. 
A decent gaming rig will run you 500-600 dollars.  And that is from a company, not putting it together yourself.

The only reason PC gaming would die is if/when it becomes not profitable to develop for PC's.  However consoles will always be inferior to a PC, not because of software, but because of hardware.  A Console will always be limited by what it has inside of it.  At this point Xbox 360 hardware is 4 years old.  That is pretty old and dated.  It really shows its age when you put side by side comparisons of PC FPS games and Console FPS games.

It's just supposed to fix the achievements for DLC completed within the first week after launch because they weren't showing up properly on the Xbox. Nothing else was getting fixed with it unfortunately.

And this DLC is now available.

But I will not download it til they say " it's officially released'.

Yeah, anyone who's reading this, I'd wait until they make an official post about the DLC -before- downloading it. Don't want anyone's game to get ruined!

Can someone clarify this specialization problem please? Is the problem only that they appear locked when you level up, or are they completely gone from the character info screen too?

Yeah, saving and restarting the Xbox didn't remove the locks on previously unlocked specializations. Don't know how you got that to work What a Twist, but it's not working here.

The patch (which was why I went on at all today) ONLY fixes the achievements thing. Was just suppossed to be a quick fix, the big REAL patch was going to come out when RtO did. I don't think I was even affected by the no achievements thing, but you know how it is with the xbox, you stick the disc in and it updates unless you say NOO!

Events so far.

RTO was released on the Xbox 360, not on the other platforms for an unknown reason.

Some people are having trouble finding it or downloading in through Xbox Live.

There seems to be a bugg that re-locks all your specializations. (xbox only so far)

There have been no updates stating when the PC and PS3 versions will release, or if the xbox release was too soon.

Okay when you guys say your specials are locked are you saying when you level up they are no longer there or when you go into the menu and look at the moves you got when leveling up are no longer there? Because when I go into the screen to look at my stats Duelist/Assassin etc is still there and the moves I unlocked for it are still there.

Not sure if it's applicable as it was a party member rather than my PC but Alistair dinged
14 while playing and I was able to give him his second spec just fine.

Ok now I know this is a personal attack against me. You guys wait until I am in the last part of the game with no way out to release it.  What did I do to you?

Bought it downloaded it, can't play it. Still happier than a pig in slop that it is out. Thanks guys. Even though it didn't have the reduced price like once promised still feel like a huge weight has been lifted off of me. Patch fixed more than the achievement issues right?

For anyone who is having trouble finding it (like I did I was about to come back and start tearing people a new one) don't look in the new additions of the marketplace. It isn't there. Go to the Dragon age game itself on the marketplace (browse all games, Find D, scroll down) and it is there.
