800 to 600 is -25%. But 600 to 800 is +33.3%. And when Bioware gives +4% they tend to think things are fixed.

At least this can be easily fixed with a balance change and not a patch.

If bioware really thinks this garbage gun is balanced with its 600 RoF, then I don't know what to think. Maybe a new game...

I'm perfectly amenable to the gun having a max rate of fire of 600, as long as it delas damage appropriate to that.

I still think the cleanest buff is 800 ROF with a 10-15% damage buff.

No joke, I've been using spitfire X with HVB and EM on a geth soldier... it actually tears through geth. I didn't even use an AR amp on it, just densified ammunition...

Mr. Eric Fagnan sir, sincerest apologies... this thing may not be a boss killer, but find some decent soft cover and you can just melt everything on cerberus and geth... haven't really tried it out too much with EB + AP IV versus reapers / collectors, but I'm actually beginning to see why Eric says it isn't bad.

It's armour damage sucks against anything that's doesn't have armour and a 2.5x headshot multiplier, but the gun seriously isn't that bad...

Too bad you guys didn't have the foresight to make the wielder immune to staggers while firing it.

Now that we're getting an extra 10% damage, how's about you also reduce the movement speed penalty to 15%?

-15% movement speed and +10% damage would make the gun worthy of being called an UR.

But the gun is bugged, nevertheless, unless Eric states that it's suppose to work at 600RPM and not 800RPM.

I would like the gun to work as intended.

Not actually surprised by that experience. I was running into something similar on my dry run with EB + AP and Incendiary on a Geth Trooper.

Still think the gun needs a bigger buff, since without headshots its damage to Marauders was pretty slow and it has an awful habit of leaving me helpless as more durable enemies approach (which.. yeah, I guess that's why it's better against Geth and Ceberus).

If it weighed significantly less and/or didn't slow you down, I would totally love the gun at it's current level. As it is, I don't think it needs as crazy huge a buff as people were originally calling for, but DPS close to what it would have at 800rpm seems like it'd make the most sense. It'd be a real anti-personnel machine gun.

This is my biggest complaint. It's a weapon which would fill an infantry killing niche and be great.... apart from the stupid speed decrease.

Why not just remove it entirely... the typhoon still does better damage to armour and pretty much the same damage to shields. They are about equal in terms of accuracy, both have a ramp up... except one has 200 extra ammo and imposes a massive movement speed penalty, and a larger clip, which doesn't really amout to anything as the spitfire takes more shots to kill everything anyway...

See I wouldn't mind those penalties if it had a more power and actually represented a plasma chaingun. The Shield multiplier renders it fine vs shields, but it's vs armour which is sorely lacking. If the rate of fire was increased to the actual 800rpm and given a 10-15% damage inc. I think it'd go some way to mitigating that, as modifying the damage multipliers is not an option, without a patch.
