Geth Spitfire only has 600 RPM(not 800) when ramped up, DPS is 25% less than expected

And you would expect that if the spitfire was a "theoretical weapon" like the CSMG it wouldn't be able to be modded due to balance change over writes. I experimented boosting the fire rate of the spitfire and it worked perfectly, which isn't usually the case with balance change variables, which get reset to whatever the server thinks they should be upon connection.

(like the CSMG; they extensively altered the CSMG through balance changes prior to retaliation launching, such that it is unrecognisable when compared to what the actual coalesced defines the weapon as; 90 damage per shot, semi-auto burst fire, 10 shots per burst....)

That is true, and rather strange.  I suppose it has something to do with the variable RoF, where the files indicate some sort of max/min, and interpolates between...maybe?

Alternatively, it could be that they made an error in the coding somewhere that scales the RoF down somewhere, e.g. having it spool up unevenly and losing a bit due to rounding.  Then, if they forgot to account for gold time speed up on testing and tested it there, the Spitfire would have a RoF of 600*1.075=645, and figured that it was good.

Really I have no idea, that is a rather strange problem.  I'm just guessing.

Agreed, been havin fun w/ it alot lately on the TGI.  Drill rounds 3 and keep shooting even through the walls... tactical dmg boost to bump spray n pray effectiveness, jetpack dodges to counter speed penalty, stims to keep spraying and spraying.

Oh yeah it is.  I also use the stability 3 equip, makes it very very accurate for headshots.  Cloaked OLs to shield strip and make dropping mooks real easy.  With drill 3's on your punching through spawns hitting everything.  Abuse ramps for spitfires in banshees faces with lol stim packs to stare her down while doing so.  Keep your distance, keep firing... 

Also don't underestimate cloak, ol, heavy melee's when surrounded by marauders... makes em dance, makes em faint, makes em fly.  Then contine to spray! 

Been doing a borderlands 2 playthrough with some buddies so I haven't been on nearly as much as I use to but once they log I've try to get a few games in... and for about a week now is been almost nothing but the TGI spitfire... it's just loads of fun being the turian turret laying never ending firepower. 

EDIT:  On gold.  Totally viable.  Haven't tried on plat so I dunno (DPS race, prolly not *shrug*).

Like many things, it's not as bad as the BSN suggests that it is.

Of course, that doesn't mean it couldn't do with a buff.

I have found on the Destroyer with RoF increase, and equipped with Armor piercing, and some assault rifle damage bonuses it is quite good. Just needs the right kit to make it worthwhile. I don't use it exclusively though, always need another weapon so you can run normally etc.It rips through shields and barriers, but then slows down for armor. That's why you need the peircing mod. At least on a Spitfire X.
