Basically, this.
Which will hopefully make it all the sweeter once we finally get it.
No RTO release for PC?

Yes, so lets hope this "series of disasters" is followed up by a series of explanations...
I do understand Bioware's reluctance to give release dates ect, but given this fiasco someone needs to stump up and set the record straight. I sure as heck wouldn't want that job...
which means that they'll probably make Evil Chris Priestley do it. Poor Chris...I hope he took a personal day.....

My curiosity is through the roof as well. I would love to know the reason behind this chain of events.

I can assure you that the PC "can't say what"... had no such issue. And RtO just popped up on my PC game client as available for download which I hope starts soon... no error message but stuck at zero % for ever!! lol
Not to be pesimistic or anything but you probably just lost your points
Hmmm... I think you're right... closing the game client and opening it again will not have the downloading operation but the DLC available again for full 400 points while the balance is gone! Aw well, pitty I don't have a Bann Teagan Hammer to show the one responsible for that! =)

It's not that they need to give us a release date for RtO. It's that now that there's a potential Game Breaking (Although it is perfectly possible to go the game with only one Spec, who's to say that if you go in before you reach level 7 and you happen to get the level up while there that you'd be locked out of the specs altogether?) Bug out there, they should explain what happened this time around....and within that should be the answer - Is this the final version? Or Was it released accidently?
Given the fact that there's a 1/14 date, and the fact that that happens to be Tomorrow, regardless of the year - It could be that they were planning on releasing it tomorrow - But again, until someone shows up, and says something, we can only really guess.

The only plausible explanation I have is that distribution was given the word to hold release so there could be a simultaneous release on all platforms. There was originally going to be a pretty large gap in-between the PS3 version and the PC and XBOX versions, Someone from Sony may have rung EA and said, "Can you hold it for a week or so?" and the guy from EA said, "Sure! What's a week or two going to matter?", and then the Bioware reps here on the forums are left to clean up the aftermath from some unrelated departments’ short-sightedness.
Unless there's some significant difference between "that which shall not be named" and the final release of RtO, that is.

...and then to kind of show Sony who is boss and getting them back for holding back the release date, Microsoft releases RTO earlier than everyone else. Take that PS3 (and unfortunately....PC too)

I just hope that having the email confirmation for the points with a purchase number helps. Else I can imagine my wife when she see the c/c invoice... "you said it was 10 Reais and now it is 10 dollars?" ... "Well... they released half for 5 dollars and now another half for another 5 bucks, thus two entries for 5 bucks each which means 10 Reais each!"... She won't be mad at the amount but at the double charge, if it comes to that.
But I'm definitely getting it when it's out. It's a great piece of work and worthy even 10 bucks for it!

Value is entirely subjective, but I agree - hell, I'd pay a few dollars for a lengthy codex entry. I loves me some lore.

And I found that this DLC is now available.
It's about 350 MB.
Should I download it?

I wouldn't touch anything until a developer of the game says that the DLC has been "Officially Released" But that's just me.

I can see it now, I also bought it, the download was very slow, and for some reason the version number required 1.02 was in red, so I quit the game, reapplied the patch.

Not a problem. People can do what they want but given the circumstances I wouldn't risk it. We've been waiting a long while already. I'm willing to wait a little longer.
Very sound advice. even if it showed up in my PC window I will be waiting for an official announcment from Bioware that it is released. Even though it would be very tempting to try.

Considering the colossal (and very obvious) failure in communication between the different departments/teams/whatever responsible for handling the RtO DLC distribution, I honestly do not know what to expect from Bioware at this point. The real problem is that, this whole mess sets a bad precedent that may influence people in a negative way, when it comes to purchasing any future DLC.
especially when it comes to preordering...

Same thing, only I had no red numbers and I had 0% download for 3 hours. Restarted the game and points are gone.
I dont care about few €, but this is basically scam and I will sure never buy anything from Bioware again.
