Kustelefa, just got done reading like, all of them...

Good ****. Lol.

But I got to one of the pictures around number, like 39? 40? And I couldn't see the page. Odd...

It's the one after the old dude with the red boxers that say "Ho ho". Figured I'd bring it up.

I'm getting "Can't retrieve information from Xbox live. Please try again later. Status Code: 80153003". And I'm getting a little bit pissed off.

Not off-topic, btw. This is to distract you from the wait.

Just a suggestion, try preloading your menu buttons using Javascript or some other method to remove the "pop in" of the mouse-over images because they aren't cached into your browser until you hover over them removing the "seamless transition".

It's the servers dying with the influx of people trying to download; just like these forums are having trouble keeping up.
It wouldn't surprise me if Bioware pulled the plug for today and started again tomorrow. If there are people still in the Bioware offices, they'll be working over time - the working day is over.

Changing the subject:............why is there a need for updates and
patches?......I mean, really,....don't they test the games before they
put them on the market?.....obviously not.

Please tell me you're not a troll. When games are tested internally, they're usually tested by a small group on a small number of configurations. Let's say a really good test phase happens and they get 100 test results, one resulting in a major bug and 10 in minor bugs (this is incredibly idealised, BTW). They patch it, but the patch causes a major bug on 50% of the systems, and eventually it works its way down to rare/minor bugs (such as armor clipping, or a 1 in a million chance of a blue screen).

The game is then given gold status and printed and shipped, but during the process another set of bugs are discovered and a release date patch is provided (Mirror's Edge is a great example of this). On release date (let's say the week before/after to allow for some reviews, pre-order copies etc), a swathe of bug reports come in.

Why? Because you cannot test every single hardware/software combination in a studio. You generally see a batch of patches in the first few months, and then it slowly trickles down to none. With the complexity of games now (either just their sheer size, the amount of coding, the hardware/software combinations), there are more and more bugs that are detected because there's just so many variables.

Some of the holiday images were having some trouble loading when we got a lot of high traffic. Try again, should work.

I've waited this long, so another day or so won't kill me. I personally just wonder what the hold back is. Anyone have any idea? I read something about Microsoft but it wasn't anything in detail.

I'm pretty sure content on XBOX Live Marketplace is hosted by Microsoft, not the publisher of the content.  And I'm sure Microsoft is more than equipped to handle RtO, given some of the massive, anticipated expansions and DLC they have hosted in the past - like the GTA IV episodes.

Better guess is that Bioware asked for the content to be taken down, due to some of the complaints about bugs.  Which will be depressing, as I came home from work all excited to finally play this DLC.

I am a patient man, but even my patience can wear thin. I compare it to waiting for a book, you want to read it, it says it is out, and then it is delayed. One delay is ok,2 can be frustrating, but someone leaking the book to only one store and not others, not good business practices.DaO is a fun game, but fun only goes so far when disappointment mars it's pretty features. I will wait like others, but i am getting kinda impatient.

Just a tired and stressed fans opinion

I pretty much feel the same way. Setting false expectations doesn't make good business sense. I understand the reasons that the devs have listed, yet it still makes the studio lose credibility.

Wow, whoever thought of the "EA/bioware Points" idea was a genius. Now, EA/bioware can dump what ever marketing hype they want into the spin-cycle, and sit back and collect bucks.

If someone in a MMPOG behaved like EA/bioware has ... they would be accused of using exploits for gold-mining and banned from the game.

Working on that. I hate to say it, but our web-dev team runs away from Java. I will see what I can do with the CSS and images to make it more seamless.

Enough about the site... did you enjoy the COMIC?

Agreed. I honestly don't think Duncan surviving would serve the story at all. Having a seasoned and experienced Warden would destroy the whole "Two fresh faced Grey Wardens finding their path in a wartorn world, struggling against an impending blight" storyline.
