The only difference is between Male and Female versions.

Or is it like ME2's extra weapon training, where the choice is locked for all future playthroughs with that Shepard? Or does it just reset?

I'm just sorta sad at the fact that having Spirit and Nightmare gives you the best boosts for all respective classes, but Shade is just meh because its made for JOATs

Yes, if you do a new game+ and then a new game+ again, you can get all three armors.
The proper order being Spirit <> Nightmare > Shade.
The first you get being the best for your class obviously.

Yeah I already made that mistake by getting the shade first.

This might be a little off-topic (or maybe not, I don't know), but has anyone else had clipping issues with the helmet? My Shepard's hair pokes through the helmet of the shade armor. Just an aesthetic issue, but one that's irritating me greatly.
My FemShep doesn't have this issue.

Eh, I figured out the problem. I decided to be impatient and unlock the armors through the save editor. Every armor that was unlocked with the debug function has the same clipping issue. Guess I'll have to get it legitimately.RaptorSolutions wrote...

Ouch, well good to know. Never did the debug thing before, but I do like to unlock stuff using the buttons already in Gibbed.

Well...getting 9999 points didn't take nearly as long as I was expecting, and now I legitimately have the armor. I'm loving it. It's perfect for a vanguard, IMO.RaptorSolutions wrote...

Somebody on the DLC team is in love with the Cerberus logo, apparently. As I've mentioned before, we've got more Cerberus-branded gear (both weapons and armor) now than we did when we were actually working for them. At this point, I'm kind of surprised they re-branded the Normandy SR-2 with Alliance colors and logos.
Yeah, this seriously bothers me. I love the Spirit armor, but does the Alliance not know how to make armor? Who won that battle anyway?

Because it wasn't made by the Alliance, its basically phantom armor captured, studied and then given to you.

Why he hell did these come in cerb colours? N7 style would have been sweeeeeet.
If you read the email that unlocks after breaking the scoreboard, AAA mentions that they obtained the suits from phantoms that attacked the citedal during the coup.

I like the cerberus color scheme, and besides, your actions speak louder than the armor you wear.
Perhaps, but I still cringe at certain points in the game. When I arrive at Cerberus-occupied Eden Prime; when we arrive at Grissom Academy to repel Cerberus; when I run into Kaiden for the first time in armor since Mars, and try to convince him I'm not with Cerberus-- yeah, the Cord-Hislop color scheme and logo in the center of my chest is awkward. It may not have an in-game impact, but it breaks verisimilitude a bit, since it would with real people.
I still use the armor. It's statistically effective and looks great. I'd rather have had an Alliance or N7 version, though. Keep the awesome look, just swap the Cerberus yellow for Alliance blue or N7 red, and use the appropriate logo. Shepard in a unique white-red-black N7 Nightmare armor would've been bad ass.
I don't like the Fem-Shep armor, sadly. It accentuates the bizarre body proportions of the ME3 female character model.
