Is there a definitive list of what I can trade with him? The Wikia page seem to kepp changing and some of the things up there didn't work. =P

I didn't really want to give up too much and a lot of the items aren't accesible to the "good" type of character I'm playing... Can anyone help me out?

1) The book you get from Cammen quest

2) The book you get inside Lanayla's chest

3) A random silver ring

4) The scarf you get from the quest you get from the elf who lost his wife because of the werewolf curse (if you use this item i think you can't end the quest but i'm not sure)



You just need items 1-3 to get all the stuff from the Hermit

Following worked for me:



The Tale of Iloren - book as quest reward for pimping* dunno the word

Song Book - from the chest behind Lanaya

an item taken from the injured Dalish found in West Brecilian, gloves/boots?

the Dusk Ring ("silver ring") dropped by Greater Shade in West Brecilian

and the item from Danyla

Is the Dawn/Dusk ring combo any good? It sounds cool.

never found the Dawn one (yet). first I was hoping the Hermit would have it and either trade it or drop it because iirc he mentions something like .. i had a ring like that once .. but it was not the case.

Why trade with the hermit? Kill him and get the acorn and the dreamsever ring (+10% spirit damage).

Because there's a codex entry and a helmet you cannot get from simply killing him?



If you do want to kill him though you only need to trade for two items, not three. The third one will be found when you root through the stump to trigger combat.

I traded with him for his book and the helmet, then killed him for the acorn and ring.  win-win... bwaahahaha.  I traded using another book and some boots I think.

A book which is a codex entry (i couldn't find any other use for that) and the ancient elven armor elmet

Do not trade Danyla's scarf, trade the locket you get from her husband. Trade the scarf and lose the quest completion.

Nah, I remember you can still complete that quest. Might be you need some Coercion though.
But you have plenty of other items to trade to not NEED the scarf.

But you have plenty of other items to trade to not NEED the scarf.

You don't need Coercion; there's one conversation path that leads to Athras accepting your word without needing the scarf to prove Danyla's death.  Just save before you speak to him and try everything.

...and don't trade the Dusk ring, since the Dawn ring shows up near the final battle and the two rings are a *great* set together.

if you convince the girl with the hurlas (sp) that the hurla is sick, high coercion needed, the hurla will be killed and you will be given the horns or they will be given to the weapon maker either way if you talk to him, he will make an amulit (sp) that you can trade with the hermit

I don't know if it's been mentioned already, but you can also trade him the book you get from Cammen if you convince the girl he's in love with to marry him.

I only ever traded two items with him. The acorn if I dont want to kill the Grand Oak. Which I never seem to want to. Second is the helmet of course.



I use the scarf and Cammen's Book as the trade items.
