I am curious if the reapers were destroyed, controlled or synthesis, would indoctrination effects stay the same or reduce etc
I was thinking specifically with the cerberus soliders, because no way did the attack on the cronos station destroy all of cerberus but rather become separated (non of the cells communicate with one another) i.e. there will still be a large amount of cerberus facilities and personnel around.
what do you guys/girls think?
Would the indoctrinated still be indoctrinated after ME3

I think depending on how far along they were they would just turn into mindless husks. Isn't that what Vigil said happened to indoctrinated forms after the reapers left in his cycle.

The people who arn't too deeply indoctrinated... like husks and similar should be able to get back to their lives. People who very advacned indoctrination damage will have a hard tiem without guidance. I don't think there is much if anything left of husks for example.

Once anyone is indoctrinated its permanent. People who are only a "little indoctrinated" may be able to carry on normal lives but would be much more venerable to suggestion.

From ME2 and 3's codeces:
"Long-term physical effects of the manipulation are unsustainable. Higher mental functioning decays, ultimately leaving the victim a gibbering animal. Rapid indoctrination is possible, but causes this decay in days or weeks. Slow, patient indoctrination allows the thrall to last for months or years."
Unless there is some heretofore unheard of cure for Indoctrination, the indoctrinated would, at best be living on borrowed time until they rapidly or gradually lose basic functionality. Vigil even stated that the indoctrinated servants of Reapers, assuming they weren't killed, eventually lost the mental capacity for simple self-preservation and starved to death.

I'd be more worried about future indoctrinations. Do we know it's something they have to actively do and not a subconscious defense mechanism? That derelict Reaper in ME2 was still fully capable of indoctrinating people. "Even a dead god can dream."

I've actually wondered about that and what it means for a "destroy" ending. If all of the Reapers are destroyed, can the "dead" Reapers still indoctrinate anyone who spends too much time around them?
I think the best bet for the galaxy after a destroy ending would be to just send all of the Reaper corpses into whichever star they happen to be closest to. I have this vision of the Reapers using newly indoctrinated folks who spend too much time around dead Reapers to cause havoc in the post-war galaxy. Sort of a "final revenge."

I think there are a few lines in the game that state people are taking cautionary measures when dealing with Reaper corpses during the war, handling and disposing them using remote controlled drones and somesuch.

i wondered this as well but since everything with reaper tech was killed in destroy I think they die. in control shepard would take control of them.synthesis they become normal (relatively speaking) and by that I mean they basically get their mind back but they are still creepy looking

Well, regardless of ending choice, I imagine that none of the indoctrinated are receiving "orders" from the Reapers any more, with the possible exception of Renegade Control. The question would be whether the survivors could do anything to help them regain their mental capacity. In the case of the Protheans who eventually starved, I doubt there was anyone around to help them - the Reapers likely just abandoned them after the harvests were over.
The Cerberus soldiers were probably being indoctrinated to obey TIM - whether that actually worked or if the Reapers ordered them to pretend to be loyal to Cerberus so that they could continue manipulating TIM is unclear.
