Check that your Dragon Age Origins Content Updater Service is running. Without it the game cannot talk to the server to verify your right to use your DLC. To manually start it, before you start the game:

1.) Press the windows key + R (or click Start and then RUN) and type in services.msc and press ENTER

2.) Locate the Dragon Age: Origins - Content Update in the list of services.

3.) Right click it and select START

If the service doesn't start or is not on the list there is more troubleshooting information in section 3 of the PC Redeemed DLC Troubleshooting FAQ

There is also a beta fix for the updater that has resolved the issues I was having, so that the service now starts automatically when the game starts, as intended.

Remember when it fixed itself after a couple hours, due to it being caused by a flood of traffic to the servers?

2012 is early! Ahhh run, run for your lives! Or maybe like...fly away from the cracks in the earth 3 or 4 times. God forbid we play offline once our DLC is authorized....it can't be done! Woe, woe!

Here we go again on our own. Walking down the only roads we've ever known. Like, er, drifters we were born to walk alone.

But we've made up our minds! We ain't wasting no more times!

Were just some hearts in need of rescue, waitin on Bioware's charity, and we're gonna hold on, for the rest of our days, 'cos we know what it means, to walk along the lonely street of dreeaaaammmsss!

Tho I keep refreshing for the DLC, I never seem to find what I'm looking for.
Oh David Gaider I pray you'll give me strength to carry on!
