Anyone managed to figure out a pattern or a way to improve your chance of success?

You get a Shotgun Ultralight Materials mod for beating Relay Defence (less easy, but just keep up a x4 multiplier and you'll get it).
There are a whopping 4 mods in the Claw game, and my completionist nature will need to beat it in every playthrough.

It flashes twice on a space, moves on to an adjacent space and repeats.

If it turned once, it is very likely will turn again. But it also almost look like the orange actively avoid you. And even if it show up under you, it's gone so fast that unless you're one of those korean kids that can click 60 times per second you'll never get it that way.
I decided to play the probabilities: the chance for the orange to appear on any ball is like 5-10%. Just don't aim at it, because that's the one place it definitely won't be. Using this "blind fishing", I got 3-4 oranges before giving up.(naturaly it involved getting alot of green/blue/purple balls)
Hope this helps

I can't beat Shattered Eezo or Relay Defense, though. I just can't last long enough to get the top score. It seems a bit much just to get 1 weapon mod for each of those games.

Shattered Eezo is simple once you realize how to do it.
As someone already said you have to block until you opponent charges up, then attack as long as he keeps charging up, back to block afterwards and repeat.
Relay Defence is the worst, at some point the delay between spawn and shot of the enemies gets so short, they will almost inevitably deal damage.
Launch ships whenever it is possible to get them to the relay, may need some practice.

I followed this advice and managed to get all 4 mods in 7 attempts. The rhythm really helps out as you manage to pick up the ball the second time it flashes orange.harrier25699 wrote...
I got 4 oranges in a row once I saw the pattern. Just follow the orange ball and try to anticipate where it may end up next, at the same time keep the rhythm of it's flickering with your mouse index finger, tap (don't press) the LMB (or respective pad button) in time with it till you have the orange ball under you claw, then grab it!
Thanks!
There are about 10-15 additional songs for the stereo in your apartment by getting green and blue balls. Getting a purple ball gives you a Volus plushie.Dr. Megaverse wrote...
I'm curious is there by chance a list somewhere of rewards? The weapon mods aren't worth it for me so the other two games will be getting ignored, and I'd like o know if the claw game is even worth my time. I'm really only interested in additional housing items.
4 Orange Balls give you 4 mods. Otherwise, it's credits you get.

It is flickering so fast that I can't see how you can spot a pattern... Flickering should be a tad slower really it's ridiculous.

ME1/KOTOR etc easter egg. I'm a bit disappointed they didn't include it its over use in games means I'm good at it I could have topped that scorebaord easily.
Thanks for the tips about the claw game I'll give it a go.
