To my surprise I just noticed that I actually like him. His bad and inappropriate flirting, his connection to Shepard, his friendship with Cortez. Ok for a supporting character. Not terribly interesting, though.

Funny you say that since Vega's VA is fluent in Spanish.

I think the meaning was that the inclusion of the Spanish is his dialogue just felt forced rather than natural, in which case I agree. Pretty much all of his dialogue feels unecessary, and he's a very bland character in general.

My opninion of him hasn't changed; he's still a waste of a squad slot, in an already limited choice of squad members that potentially already includes a soldier anyway if you have Ashley on your side. Not that the ME2 squad selection didn't have a lot of redundancy, but it had a huge range of varied characters to pick from and interact with.

I would much rather have had Shepard talking to one of the ship's bulkheads. His antics in the Citadel DLC are amusing, but they don't solve that he's still a rubbish character, and he could really have just been substituted for anyone; my vote being Kal Reeger sleazing up the party instead of dying in an e-mail.

Shepard is Vega's mentor, kinda like Anderson was for Shepard. I've always liked him.

I always liked him. I find it funny how some BSN nerds go all "OH HES A GORILLA, BIG MUSCLE MAN, I HATE HIM"

Really guys? I cant help but imagine some fat kid behind a computer screen eating some fast food.

Aye.

Thought he was pretty cool from the onset. Think many people "hated" him because he replaced favorite(s) from ME2. I remember alot of people raged against Grunt because he wasn't Wrex.

Never hated him in the first place. It's just a shame that he wasn't made an LI option, would've been nice to have a new male romance considering how few options there were for FemShep.

You see Vega and you'll hate him.

But when you hear him talk, you'll start to accept him. Once you see him and Cortez talking, you'll like him.

Freddie's voice made him a likeable character, he did a good work here.

Yeah, I was a bit confused why he wasn't.  Thought all the flirting set it up nicely...though I do support the Vega-Ash hookup...seems a good combo.

Saw it as maybe Vega's layed-back nature influencing Ash to be less uptight...or maybe it was all the alcohol;)  Thank god the writers didn't have her spouting poetry in an anebriated state.

I always liked James. The only thing that keeps me from using him much is his lack of history with Shepard. He was designed for new players to bring around so that they could be filled-in on events through him.

I'm playing through ME1 now and those characters... man. BioWare has come a long way -- that's all I'll say.

Yup. Couldn't believe how less cool Garrus was. Mah bro wasn't mah bro...

'Twas more heartbreaking than the ending.

I don't know about you, but I liked him from the moment I started playing. Much like Jack, actually. Pre-game I really didn't like the idea of them, but their execution was so flawless that I warmed up quickly.

I always liked Vega. He just seems like a good guy. Plus, he likes being independent which I can respect. He doesn't just go chasing booty; if it comes to him great, if it doesn't he's cool with that.

I've always liked Vega, he's my second-most used squad member.

Pretty much this.

He also has that humor that makes him appear more energetic than other human squadmates.

I never disliked Vega. I'm not really a fan of his though. Seems like a bit of a waste of a character slot since he doesn't really bring anything to the story.

I didn't realize he was my second-most-used squadmate at the point I started the DLC (I thought it was EDI, but I guess I used her more during the second half), so he started talking during the rescue.

"Going to confuse them with your crazy, huh? Good plan."

I never disliked the Vega character, I thought he was alright, not my favourite but not the worst. I just hated his inclusion into the game, they should have put the Mass Effect 2 companions in Mass Effect 3 before creating somebody new IMO. Same reason why I hate Ailers.

I didn't dislike him at first, I was more apathetic towards his character. Over time Vega started growing on me and after the DLC I really do like him as a character. He is funny at times and pretty damn handy in a fight. The fact that his passive squad ability boosts Sheps heath and shields is a big plus.
