I was always ok with Vega, but I will love him only if he starts acting as Krogan since he clearly replased a Krogan squad mate. So, Vega should start running across the battlefield, headbutting everything and yelling "I... Am... VEGAAAAAAA!!!".

Well, I like him, the problem being that he is a soldier that is taking the space for a krogan/salarian ect. As funny as he can be, he remains a somewhat generic and nowhere near the depths of character of some other characters in the series, namely the me2 ones (altought he is miles better than Jacob, even tought that does'nt say much).

I don't think the series needed another bro, considering the presence of fan vavorite Garrus, Wrex ect. If anything, he was introduced too late in the series. I kinda wish he was jenkins and had survived the first mission. Ash could have been a sniper or something, and the group would have been balanced again.

I think Vega is a pretty cool guy. Eh kills Reapers and doesn't afraid of anything.

Seriously though he's a decent character and squadmate.

Remember how everyone used to hate him?

Not really, no. I remember when Freddie Prinze Jr was announced as the VO of a new latino-killing-machine marine and I thought it was terrible, until I actually gave him a chance and he became one of my fave characters. I haven't really looked back since.

Hated him at first (I mean, the fact that Shepard seemed to know this meathead and I didn't was more then a little jarring) but he quickly grew on me.

Yeah, James is cool now, though I do prefer the names the James Vega Name Generator gives him.

I like James. Always have. Like him even more after Citadel dlc. But then, I luvd all the characters even more after that dlc.

Vega really seems to look out for Shep. Idk if it's because I brought him out alot on missions..or I just recently noticed. But there have been more than a few times where Bro had my back.

Even in the dlc, I had somehow gotten myself cornered while fighting...uh, the villain..and I was like , "Oh! Oh, Snap!" The villain right in front of me. My shields gone. Getting my butt kicked.

Then the...villain..stumbles fwd and almost falls over. I see behind the stumbling villain---it's Vega! He started w/a Carnage to the back of said villain's head. Then proceeded to move in for sum good melee. Ha!

So, me and Vega proceeded to melee the hell outta that villain. Lmao! Good times....

Yes, I like Vega just fine.

There is only room for one Jim in sci-fi, and his surname isn't Vega.

In all seriousness, though, I don't hate Vega, but I can't get over the feeling that he's there at the expense of characters I already liked from ME2. Or, if not that, then at the expense of having a Krogan on our squad. To miss out on either of these, the character has to be pretty damn special, and that Vega is not.

He pales in comparison to most of the other characters, particularly the characters from 2. I mean, he's fine, but he's such an overblown caricature of your generic soldier that he just ends up not having much substance.

You obviously haven't taken him on missions.

I think Vega is pretty darn special (he could have been so much more of a cliche than he is), but I still would trade him for my foster krogan or my psychotic biotic any day of the week.

I've taken him on missions. My opinion hasn't changed.

Ive always liked James (I cant for the life of me, call him "Vega"). Ive always wanted a romance for James too. In ME3 he is my most used squadmate... He just appeals to me, for more reasons than I could care to list. Even if he does replace my favorite species on the team; the Krogan.
I believe he could have been written better or he could have at least had better character development though and I also think the romance would/could have been nice. If only they hadn't cut the romance then attempted to paste that.. "fling" back in with the Citadel DLC.

Well, Vega isn't for everyone, and that's fair enough. Ppl like/dislike all the characters.

I think ME2 squad was...thrown under the bus. I always want and luv new characters, tho. Have to have sum new blood in the cast. Otherwise, boring.

Idk, all in all I feel that the cast options were a lil tight for my tastes. It was Liara, James and Garrus for the most part.

VS was pssshhh...somewhere midway thru the game. Tali was the same. Javik was dlc so I don't count him---altho I can't imagine the game w/out Javik.

Overall, the squad was slim pickings.

Never had a problem with him. Gave him a Typhoon, brought him on missions, watched everything get shredded by machine gun fire.

I admit I had my doubts about him when his character was first introducted before the game's release. After release I honestly found him more likeable than Ashley, Kaidan, Jacob and Miranda with my only real complaint being his gratuitous use of Spanish (though admittedly, I don't have enough close acquaintences who are of Hispanic descent for me to make an objective judgment about how realistic it is). Also, didn't watch Paragon Lost so I can't judge how well he was treated there, though from what I hear that anime has its fair share of problems anyway.

He's also pretty useful as a squadmate if you ignore Carnage (too long of a recharge time to make much difference) and just max out every other skill he has first.

I don't love him, but I don't hate him either. I planned to use him more as a squadmate during my 2nd playthrough but I usually ended up using Liara and EDI...

The VA did a pretty good job though.

I've liked him from the start! Great choice to take into battle, and the banter between him, Shepard and the other squad mates is always funny. I just wish he'd been a full romance. It had so much potential. *le sigh*

When he was first revealed I, like a lot of others, thought, "oh god, dudebro CoD character". While I still think he was added for questionable reasons (mainly to get those dudebro CoD players), I did end up liking him, and in the DLC he has some of the best scenes.
