Having said that, I did enjoy it. I've played Plat a couple of times before, even extracted (on pre-change White, though...), but never this relentlessly. The thing is you need a decent team. If you can actually get some form of teamwork going then that's even better, but unless you can solo the whole thing you are going to have to rely on them at some point. In the end I just ran infiltrators for the whole thing so that I could do objectives and minimise how much I needed teammates. Trooper for Reapers, GI for Cerb, QMI for Geth and Asari for Collectors. All strong DPS classes, but fun
Oh, except RioFarming. The one time I got dumped in a match I left out of boredom.

It's a bit boring. Just a boss spam.
Yep. The fun for me is mostly in silver, when not using consumables anyways. When packing a full set of equipment gold can be pretty fun too.

Sorry to say, but I failed at helping them.
Not at all, I have spent far too many hours on the field at all levels with you.
I did this helping a different way, I am a good platinum player but I can`t carry a team, gold is no problem, so I took one of three friends into every game and two that I didn`t know, you Merc and Sensium were my go to`s, this was security in that even if the other two had a desperate hard struggle, we would still get out.
See Rouse, when we are playing the hardest level in the game with people we have never run with, there is an unknown.
Some exceptions, I joined teams from here that were people I have seen posting for some time and believed they were solid and they were, last night was a classic, three I never played with before, all regular posters who hadn`t finished, we were fulling off games in 20 to 26 min, run and gun, no nuking....that was a lot of fun a not everyone is able to pull that off and every game was full extraction except one when a player lost connection in wave 9, we still finished to extraction.

Does anyone else agree that we should of got the Banner for completing the Insanity challenge and not for the weakling normal mode? All that hard work and nothing to show for it.
i do not agree

I'm glad BW did this op because I never really planned on getting into Platinum but now I actually find it fun.

I think if you want to safely break into platinum start with a geth juggernaut, spec him and use him for max survivability/tanking and hope your teammates bring the DPS. I helped a buddy yesterday who wasn't very used to platinum and he tanked on his juggernaut while myself as GI and 2 teammates blew up the bosses as they came.

It took me about 10+ pug attempts to get through Collectors. Reapers and Cerberus I did with friends and we completed them first try. Geth I did in 2 tries and then helped others do it.
The money was great, but there are sooooooo many useless classes at that level. I'd say of all the classes less than 10 are platinum viable to anyone save the most elite players.
I used my juggernaut for Cerberus and my Huntress for everything else. Using friends with mic's is very helpful. Though for collectors, the PUG group I had, no one but me had a mic.....or if they did, they didn't use it.
The issue for me with platinum, I feel like I am just spamming 2-3 buttons. With the huntress it was TC, DC, shoot....repeat.....while dodging left and right.....and it really sucks when you get staggered....and then mobbed, die, then gel...only to get staggered again and sync-killed....

Like Mega said, with a good team. I tried helping 3 people with collectors last night. Wasn't fun, and I don't want to sound elitist or douchy, but they were all silver players. They admitted this, I think I should have replaced one if them with a friend and just did it twice to help them out. I clutched a few waves, when I was grabbed on wave ten, they all died almost instantly. Sorry to say, but I failed at helping them.
The U.S.S. Rouse needed a P.T. boat to pick up the occasional man overboard.
That's right, I liked the metaphor, so I went ahead and used it twice!

I often faced enemies I couldn't deal with effectively ($@# Phantoms) but there was almost always a buddy nearby that would help me out ; and occasionally I'd help by taking on things I could deal with better than them.
Since we had all 4 factions, there was almost always something to use the various abilities on, which is always nice. But the few times I had to deal with a couple of Banshees by myself ... blech.
