I quickly counted the results in this thread - I took every mention, serious or joking, and I also didn't make a distinction if someone rated a character their first or second favourite. When someone said "All drell" or "All quarians", I took that as an answer, but when someone said the N7s or Armiger Turians, I added one for each of those characters. (I'd probably go back and do it differently, but we're not electing the pope here.)
Three-way tie for first: With 14 mentions each, the leaders in best-looking are...

• N7 Slayer
• N7 Fury
• Drell (generic)

Alone in second place, with 13 mentions: the Turian Ghost.

Alone in third place, with 12 mentions: the N7 Paladin.

With a respectable 10 mentions each, the following kits came in fourth:

• Turian Havoc
• Awakened Collector
• Alliance Infiltration Unit

Running in fifth with 9 mentions were the Talon Mercenary and the Turian Saboteur.

In sixth place, with 8 mentions, were:

• N7 Destroyer
• Cabal
• Asari Justicar

In seventh place, with 6 mentions, were Quarians (gender unspecified) (generic) and the N7 Shadow.

In eighth place, wtih 5 mentions, were Krogan (generic) and the Geth Juggernaut.

In ninth place, with 4 mentions, were Turians (generic) and the Krogan Warlord.

At this point, it gets pretty crowded. The mentions with 3 votes were the Krogan Soldier, the Human Engineers and Vanguards (no gender mentioned), the N7 Demolisher, and generic votes for Batarians, Geth, and Volus.

The classes with 2 mentions the Asari Valkyrie, Volus Vanguard, Turian Sentinel, Krogan Vanguard, Human Infiltrator (Female), generic votes for Vorcha and female Quarians, and Banshees, despite being unplayable.

Last but not least (at least they didn't get zero mentions), were the Batarian Soldier, Human Vanguard (male), Human infiltrator (no gender specified), Human Sentinel (male), Human Adept (male), Project Phoenix Adept, Project Phoenix Vanguard, Geth Infiltrator, Asari Adept, and the Drell Adept. Generic votes were cast for the Asari and "All tech armor classes".

In conclusion, people like drell, the N7s, and the turians. No one thinks salarians look cool.

N7 Paladin because of his Omni-Shield, N7 Slayer because of that really cool-looking Cerberus Shade/Nightmare/Spirit armor they're rocking, and the Armiger Turians (Ghost, Havoc, and Saboteur) with their jet-packs would be my votes.
