I got lucky with four straight different PUGs on Wednesday.  While I definitetly optimized my chances, I thought it was a pretty easy time.  Quite suprising given that it was my first Plat-PUG experience (I usually just do Plat with friends).  The Hurricane X was icing on the cake.

Then yesterday I got some friends of a friend requests to help out with Collector-Plat and damn if it didn't take four tries to get one success.  The FoFs were 25k+ CP / BotB banner players, but they still couldn't get it done.  I blame most of it on LAG (cuz, lag) and bad device placement, but regardless it was clear that a lot of people were trying and failing.

Anyhow.  Could you do it?  How many tries did it take you?

I did it in about 5-6 PUGs. Two were disasters, but the other four went very well and I ended up meeting some good folks in the process. Was my first attempts at platinum as well.

5 PUGs, 5 extracts. Collectors twice because I helped someone who helped me. Surprisingly good PUGs last Wednesday.

Normally don't PUG Plat or play it as a whole, but I brought a Claymore and the MQI and strengthened by shame it was a cakewalk. Pretty good PUG's and extractions actually.

Finished it right away on my account.

But my son wasn't able to on his. So I played it for him last night and quit early in the morning with only Cerberus left. Thought, I will get some sleep, and then I will have about two hours left if I get up at ten.

Woke up at 10:30 and it said I had an hour left now. Daylight savings screwed me. The hours left countdown clearly had it going until 12:00 MST and then it ended @ 11:00 MST. I went ahead and completed a Cerberus platinum match anyway.

Maybe he will still be able to get a pack. But this would be the second time he has had something weird happen and miss out on a pack. Really sucks because his best weapons are commendation weapons.

Got it done in first four games (though one of them didn't go very well because of difference in opinion about Rio with a friend), but I think we only had a max of 1 PUG in each game. Don't quite remember.

Trying to help people from the forums was a nightmare on PS3. Don't think I got a single extraction done with them due to disconnects, hard freezes, etc. I feel for people who had to rely on PS3 PUGs.

Yes! And it was all thanks to the players from the PS3 Alliance group. Those Platinum games were actually quite enjoyable, and I even managed to end up last in all the matches.

Silver was easy, platinum however...managed them all with random PUGs on first or second attempt, except the Geth. Five tries but no go. Left insanity with too little time to complete and my time ran out. Gutted (literally by several Phantoms and a Banshee).

9 PUG games to get the four and then extracted on my next three attempts!!! First time playing Platinum (ever) over the weekend 9/9/10/1/10. The one was on Condor with people less experienced than myself.

Then ran 3 games back to back successfully, 1 miss on 11 before finishing it off, played three more for giggles. Only 2 games made extraction without a Jugg on the team, read into that what you will.

Collectors took many failed attempts. So many that I've actually lost count...

Did all in a pug. Completed the last Geth Insanity with people here from BSN since every group I have been in failed.

I had to do several tries on the collectors as my PS3 kept freezing over in waves 7-9... I also made an epic mistake trying to help a BSN member and we wiped in wave 2... other than that, this operation was easy.

Yep, I managed to do it; quite a lot actually, via helping others both on my friend's list and from BSN. It was generally really fun.

Yep. Total of 8 matches played - pugged the Silver and played Platinum with friends (and 1 random guy for the last 2).

Total net from the OP: Eagle X, Valiant X and Valkyrie III... and a Blood Pack Punisher.

90 minutes without friends online, in 4 PUGs hosted by me.

Then I helped a friend and we finished out with a 22 minute Condor/Collectors/Plat for the lulz.

I didn't even attempt platinum. I remember how horrid those gold only operations were a year ago when hardly anyone had the gear to do them.

completed all four plats with a friend and two pugs on the first day(i believe it was tuesday the 5th) took five trys in total. We were going to go the full distance with the same team, but reaper plat(our last game) closed out, or me and my friend both DCed at the same time. We got it next game with two different public randoms.

I then had to come to the bsn and find the challenge fix so we could get both the packs we earned.

Nope, first time platinum as I'm normally a silver player by choice. Completed 1st match against Cerberus easy enough. 2nd match Cerberus again as I forgot to change search off UUP, ended up on Rio, got pissed off at people using the Box Of Shame, which I hadn't realised what it was before this match. I got really annoyed and bored at this and started drinking. Every match was like this until I got to Collectors. You may go oooh maybe he found it hard but no, no. I fell asleep ¬_¬
