Yup. All PUGs and Collectors on Platinum was god-awful.

Got them done in 5 matches. It was the first time I played platinum. And what a great experience that was!

I did. Then the very next day I got the Online Pass error and I still haven't been able to get it fixed up, so perfect timing.

The greatest moment was the Geth Platinum. Searched for a game and got dropped into one that a Jugg was attempting to solo, I walked up the ramp on White to find him in the little hallway just SURROUNDED by bombers and other numerous geth. He dropped pretty much instantly. I ran up and shot his corpse a few times and then dropped out.
I searched again and got into a game that was literally the extraction wave, 10 seconds and objective done, super lucky.

Didn't fail once. Played all of them with pugs who were pretty good. I played the geth juggernaut with cyclonic modulator 4 and 3s and just tank stuff while the other guys just killed everything. Went really well to be honest. Collectors were pretty difficult, especially since we had a kroguard who was leaching (got sync killed during extraction though) but we managed.

tbh I think Rio was a perfectly valid tactic for this op. First two extractions I kept the box as my fallback position as I didn't want to be a burden on the team.

I think I went 4 for 6 in plat pugs.

1. I was amazed at how much a live decoy the juggernaut is (just got back into me3 for the citadel dlc).
2. Most of the matches were on Rio, but oddly enough, no one used the box of shame. That made the gameplay so much better and worthwhile.

I got it in four straight PUGs, my first experiences on platinum as well. I only started to play three months ago and never dared to venture on platinum. I admit that I used the Geth Juggernaut though...

Completed mine in 4 PUGs then helped some randoms and collectors took 3 tries. Then did the operation for a third time with a co-worker and did all 4 factions in 4 games with the other 2 being randoms that stuck around for all of the games for his.

Got into my first plat game, did horribly but extracted due to a superstar player who solo'd the end. Was too embarrassed by this to try again. I'll wait 'til I have better weapons to try plat again (I want to help, not leech).

This challenge made me try platinum for the first time which I thought would be so much harder than the usual U/U/G games I play.
First game was a pug: Reapers/Dagger, 2 Juggies a GPS wielding GI and a crusader wielding AIU me. Pretty easy game which mostly included camping the control room with ocassional objectives and ammo grabs. Juggies did a great job drawing fire and tanking bosses while me and the GI dealt the damage.  Ended up with a full extraction in a little over 28 minutes.

For the second and third game I got help from a BSN member. Full extraction vs geth took 24 minutes, full extraction vs cerberus took 22 (biotic squad).

Last game vs collectors was another pug run. Had a TGI+ Harrier IX, AIU+ Crusader IV me and a couple of randoms who expected to be carried . After clutching waves 5,7 and 8 and exhausting pretty much all of my consumables except for maybe a single OPS pack we made it to partial extraction. The TGI who was the only helping squad member unfortunately didn't make it. Game took about 30-35 minutes can't remember.

TL;DR First time trying platinum, 4 games 2 out of those were pugs, extracted on all of them.

I was using the Juggy (don't judge me!)

In the fourth game, against Collectors, I got "fancy" and ended up using 5 medigel in under 25 seconds trying to make it to the LZ while being chased by a Praetorian and a Scion. I didn't make it.

I was prepared to go back and get it again, later, when someone pointed out in a thread that only one person has to extract for everyone to get credit.

From there, I just used Giant and a Juggy to get as many people their Faction Challenge as I could, and at least one person extracted every time.

Silver player normaly. Geth and reaper no big deal, did reaper twice atch. Then I wanted to hit collector before Cerbrus. I lost count of hours, nor even games and spent a f ton on JEPs to try and contribute. One time got a wipe on wave 11. I died on on wave 11 but if it's not a wipe the jugg still extracts. Cerbrus took a few. Now I promise to never be a burden on your plat matches again...but I feel ready for gold.

I did it with some friends as soon as it was on but played lots of plat games to help around. Then today 3 hours before the end, I realized that I hadn't done it on my second account (I'm leveling up my sister's account). So a friend helped me doing it again with my crappy weapons and equipment.

The story continues when a buddy of his that had joined for my last needed game tells us that he still needs collectors, geths and reapers. We do the first game and realize that we only have less than 30 minutes to do the others. We decide to try speedrunning them, something we've never done before. We take our armored compartments and head for Glacier. Collectors take 16 min, reapers 18 min. We finish a bit after the deadline but the guy gets the achievement anyways. Yay !

I'm not a Pt player, and only recently transitioned to Gold. But I hit up a friend I hadn't played with in months who is real good. So we did it with us two, usually one more of his buds, and filled out with randoms. I wouldn't have get it done without him. So ...

6 games, starting with two w9 fails against Collectors. Then nailed the next 4. Two excellent randoms, only one really bad one in the set (10K pts, cowered the whole time. At least he didn't extract).

Kudos to BW for getting me way out of my comfort zone.

A note on Rio. I hate taking advantage of games. But I really like this map. The storage containers are really good to whittle the enemy down and take cover and can split the enemy up nicely among the two interconnecting corridors. It's an area that encourages some nice pieces of teamwork imo.

I waited until Sunday to accept the challenge. My first attempt was a 1st wave wipeout on Geth Plat ... it was awful ... the team just didn't gel.

Round two was on Rio with some shamers. I refused to get into the box and died on the first wave. My teamies crawled inside the box, played the revive game, and then happily died together. Best part ... they pulled a vote to kick me after the match. for what? Refusing to die with them inside the box? I have morals! lol!

Round three was with a great group of players who carried me a bit through the match and managed to pull me through. We jumped back in for round four, and this time I hit the ground running and actually felt like I could handle myself. In fact, I didn't use much of my consumables, and I certainly wasn't hiding in the box of shame. We just ran around the map in groups of two and tag teamed anything that looked aggressive.

Unfortunately, it was time for bed by then, so I never finished the challenge.

Still, by the end of the night I had fun, and I can now say that I can handle myself on plat!

I got it done in 5 games. All pug's. Extracted all times. I did cerberus the 2nd time just to help.

I did it with the help of friends, quite easily.

I also completed the challenge for my room mate, as he was having a hard time with platinum which was a challenge all in itself as they only play online during xbox live free weekends, so their account hasn't even maxed their uncommons and only had 2 of every consumables ..thanks to the PUGS who in all but cerberus carried my arse  (and surprisingly, only one of those pugs was Rio)

I see a lot of people mentioning Juggs. There was one in at least two of my games, iirc, and it definitely made the going a lot easier.

The fail teams I was on were 4xasari and I had promoted all my classes except infiltrators just prior to playing. Huntress(16) did fine, but I'm sure the results would have been different if I'd had a Juggy instead. It was the Primes on Wave 8 that were causing the most problems.

4 for 4 the first time with friends. Then had another friend who wanted help, so we subbed out one person from that group and played with him. Went 4 for 5 the second time - we actually had one wave 10 wipe after completing the objective.

Yep, 5 matches. Played with my bro. First was a fail because of bad pugs. We kicked them, got lucky with decent pugs this time and we breezed through the rest. Later in the week we helped some friends get it (4 out of 4 tries).
