 When is the best point in the game to start this dlc? I think i started it to early, because i was missing a lot of squadmates.

Also after i finished the mainstory, right before the party, i don't get any requests from squadmates for a private date. i only get the normal gameplay requests (like meet miranda in the spectre office).

So should i play right to the point before we attack the illusive man's station?

I had already beaten the campaign, so I started right before the Illusive man's base.

best point is right before the attack on TIMs base, after doing all side missions.

for a character to appear, you have to have their war asset. if you do it at that point, you guarantee that you have their war asset, and such they will appear

If you want full character interaction, start the adventure after Rannoch (if Tali is alive). Complete the mission, but don't start the party events until after Horizon (if Miranda is alive).
