1. It's a Trilogy
2. It's a sequel
3. No FPS/MMO stuff just an RPG like ME1,2,3
4. Decision based game
5. Better Exploration

EDIT 1: A Turian main character would also be nice, maybe a choice to choose to be a Turian or Human. Thoughts?

What would your're top 5 be?

1. No returning characters but maybe references to Shepard and the Reaper War. Main character can be a different race other than human.
2. At least 500 years after Mass Effect 3, preferably 1000 years
3. No ending canon, codex changes slightly depending on ending chosen and dialogue, Geth rebuilt if chosen Destroy, Krogan genophage cure eventually anyway, etc...
4. The best things out of all three games. RPG exploration elements from Mass Effect 1, characters and mission types like Mass Effect 2, gameplay and emotional scenes like Mass Effect 3
5. Loads of different squad members to choose from ranging from different races and genders, more romance options and loyalty/friendship is important.

1. A consistent storyline from beginning till ending
2. Equally treated LI (better few, but perfectly done romance arcs)
3. Emotionally, attaching, powerful - all done by story and character
4. More freedom of decision, exploration and such
5. PC should be more human in some situations ("normal" stress, PTSD and such)

1. Respect for the audience.
2. Choices that matter.
3. Plots that make sense.
4. Characters that don't go through drastic, personality-altering changes between games.
5. No deus ex machina.

1. New Trilogy
2. Takes place 50k years from this game. Reapers flown into sun any which way. Life is synthesized in any future. Game makes references to the cycle that changed it all.
3. A synthetic character from this trilogy makes a return. Maybe EDI?
4. Expanded Suicide Mission-esque mechanics. Missions involving all squadmates.
5. The humor and light-heartedness of the Citadel DLC

1. Shepard and friends
2. Trilogy
3. RPG with less auto dialogue more choosing the dialogue for ourselves again
4. Split second choices that have to be split second. No pausing, leaving the screen sit there or taking an hour to make an important on the spot decision like which ship to try and save while they are being shot at.
5. An ending that actually feels like a victory for the hero and the hero's friends.

2. A Protagonist of a non-human race
3. Combat as tight and refined as ME3 was
4. ME3 loot/upgrade system

1. Set it far in the future. No prequel or side-quel. 100 years or 500, just enough to leave the old characters in the past and know they aren't coming back (maybe a cameo of Liara, Wrex, or Grunt since they live so long)
2. Don't force "poinency" or try to force the ending to be extra impactful. The ending should feel natural and not forced. This was ME3's failing.
3. Keep it in the Milky Way and with all the species we know.
4. More dialog options. I want to feel like I am actually doing the talking.
5. Make Paragon/Renegade more relevant. Give me a real reason to play again as a renegade. ME3 kinda threw this out the window and Charm/Intimidate were almost always open and never locked out.

1. A game set after the Reaper War

2. Stronger focus on character customization.

3. Even more emphasis on characters and in-game relationships (romances, friendships, etc.)

4. Full use of the dialogue wheel again (investigate options)

5. A game set after the Reaper War

I can't emphasize one and five enough

While I'm going over five, I feel this is very important to note. I think it is absolutely key that future decisions are held throughout however many games use the next serie's protagonist. I would much rather see smaller decisions presented to the player, if it means they'll be honored throughout all games using this protagonist. I'd rather only get to decide what shoes my character wears over a decision like "save the council" or "let them die" if it means it will be honored in the future.

1. An alternate version of the Reaper War, taking what they learned from the past year.
2. Meaningful choices, with a significant impact on our experience beyond tweaked dialogue lines.
3. A fully fleshed out dialogue system, with neutral options and investigates galore, and above all else extremely minimal autodialogue.
4. No MP attached to SP games. By all means, make ME MP games, but make them separately, and then use the funds generated by them to make a better SP product. Don't divert disc space and production budgets.
5. Consistently written characters who don't get put on a bus because they're inconvenient. Same writer behind them from concept to resolution, same VA talent, and a significant role in the games that doesn't get ignored.

Basically everything 3 should have been.

1. Better balance of the dialogue system. ME2 just about nailed it.
2. More hub worlds and fleshed out side-quests.
3. If a trilogy is envisaged, then write it narratively as such.
4. Scrapping of the Paragon/Renegade system. Consequences of actions and the way other characters react to them is important, not a pre-designated label as to what its moral standpoint it is perceived to be.
5. More unique dialogue/interrupts relating to the PC's class, particularly with biotic players.

1.) more side quests/deeper side quests
2.) a cast like mass effect 2
3.) a villain that doesn't require a super weapon to beat. Maybe fighting against the terminus systems
4.) more dialogue/more choices in said dialogue.
5.) choices having a deeper impact on the narrative.

1. A sequel set trilogy 150-200 yrs after the reaper war involving the build up, participation in and end of a civil war where you can choose which side to support based on your experiences in game, think empire vs rebellion and brown coats vs alliance in firefly/serenity. If you fight for the smaller faction you'd have less access to resources etc.
2. More hub worlds with more "life" in terms of animated NPCs who don't just stand in the one place as they do at present.
3. More variety of gameplay, not just run and gun.
4. Coherent story with no plot holes or to much ambiguity.
5. Have the game "context sensitive" ie. other NPCs recognise you and react to you based on your reputation or if you are wearing a helmet you won't be recognised etc
