Here is how the conversation should have gone:
Squadmate (ie-Vega): Lookin Fine Commander.
Shepard: Yes I am Vega. Yes I am. (smiles and waves to the crowd)
Or maybe something like this:
Shepard: (Does a sexy pose for the crowd) Damn I look good.
Squadmate: Yes you do commander. Yes you do.
Anyone else agree?

He's supposed to be incognito, having the scars on his face just makes him extremely recognisable.
EDIT: Plus the entire idea of mood sensitive scars is by far the dumbest thing in the entire franchise.

At this stage though, the entire idea of Shepard being "incognito" is pretty laughable.
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed every second of Citadel. But at this point in the trilogy, you'd think pretty much EVERYONE would recognise Shep.

I personally think Commander Lava Face is hideous, that's why I them removed from my not-totally-paragon Shepard.
Oh please. The scars make him 10 times sexier.

Yes, but at least if he's normal looking & someone tells the guard that Shepard was screwing with the cameras, he can argue that they must be mistaken. With the scars, he's no chance since his face is covered in them & he's that much more distinctive looking.Shadrach 88 wrote...

Well its not like they can remove the scars from the game just because of one mission.

So Renegade Shepard clone has scars, but Paragon Shepard clone doesn't, while Paragon Shep clone was clearly a Renegade?

He wasn't a renegade. He was just a dick.

Clone shepard didn't have the reconstruction that Realshep had, thus no scars.Calibrations Expert wrote...

So he just cut them in with a knife and placed an orange LED in his skull?

As cool as the scars look in a video game, would you want your own face to be bursting at the seams?
Only if it glows.

Yeah, but imagine walking into a bar or club looking like you've got syphilis from hell.

Scars can be sexy, but when they glow it just makes you look like a Sith lord. Also acting like an A-hole doesn't change that impression.
You talk like that's a bad thing.

Renegade will mention the scars? I must check this out.
He whines about how hideous it makes him look. It just makes you lose some respect for him.

Shepard: I kept the face as it is in case we need to stop a truck.
Vega: Like that matters. People are used to cybernetics these days.
Tali: You are looking good.
Shepard: As good as it gets given that face.
You get a similar conversation with Liara the others don't comment on the scars at least with fem-shep (my male shep always ends up paragon^^). Is the conversation with male-shep the same?
The lines could be better, but I like that they acknowledge the scars.
