How would that be fair to the people who *have* dumped 800+ hours into the game?

Yes, how would handing over a UR after a few platinum matches be fair to the people who have played hours upon hours of Platinum and just barely maxed their stuff out recently?

It would be especially futile, since I'm not against it. I'd like it. I'd use it.Leeeeeroy jenkins wrote...

You WANT a guaranteed UR pack.
I WANT a leather clad, Ducati riding, SCCA BMW racing, electrical engineer, secure communications development manager to declare her everlasting love for me, quit her job, trash her career and move from VA to NE.
We probably both have the same chances of getting what we want.
But that was not my comment.
My comment is about the chances of getting what we want, which I assess as being very slim.
It is implied (by using "want" instead of "need") that I differentiate between our desires and that which we actually require.

That is quite the slippery slope argument, because I could use that for a big fun variety of things in this game or anything else, for that matter.
Regardless, to be extra blunt, you really shouldn't feel entitled to a virtual weapon in a video-game and it should be accessible to everyone, and this is coming from a Mass Effect Junkie with 400+ hours in MP alone. (With several URs, though none maxed out)

Here's a novel idea, if you don't want the pack then don't use it. It is complete BS to extract on 20-30 games of platinum and just get a bunch of freakin SINGLE use equipment.

Holy straw man!
@doommarine23
I agree, playing a lot doesn't entitle you to weapons. I've played about 200 hours and I'm fine with the fact that I don't have a lot of stuff unlocked. Getting URs takes a lot of patience and dedication to the game. That's why it would be messed up to just start giving them away is all I'm saying.

The real question is how is it fair to have a store system that requires that much time to max out your manifest? Why should people without their Rares maxed have to dump tons of time in the game only to max out their rares and still get ammo? An UR pack makes it "fair" and better for everyone. People like me with their non Rare manifest almost finished wouldn't get useless ammo for their trouble and people with lighter manifests can have a decent "shot" at URs too. If you wanted to argue that an UR pack would allow "crappy scrubs" to get all these great weapons, that wouldn't really be the case as the pack should be expensive which you wouldn't have enough credits to get many if you can't win platinum consistently.

Before reckoning I was not in favor of a UR pack, but now after they released it and they made over half the new weapons UR, I am fully in favor of it. Making 4 of the 7 weapons UR was ridiculous. I also realize it's a moot point as EA will never actually release a UR pack.
I disagree. Some people will always spend money on packs, and an expensive credit UR pack would probably result in players who can't do platinum putting down some money to beef up their manifest.
I've seen people post about their frustrations with only getting ammo and always thought "man that sucks", but it didn't really sink in. Now that I've felt my credits going down the drain I understand how exasperating it it. I wouldn't call for an UR pack if it wasn't for the PSPs giving you consumables instead of real unlocks.

I agree, the store system is unfair and it was really built the way it is to encourage microtransactions. As it stands now though, it would be really unfair to the dedicated players to introduce a UR pack at this stage. Something like that would cut the time it takes to max out URs in half, at least. It's sort of like if you were in a class and your teacher told you that you can move up an entire letter grade if you write ten 15 page essays. Imagine that when you finished doing that your teacher told the class they could now move up that grade up by completing two 15 page essays. Wouldn't you feel cheated? Wouldn't you feel like you wasted your time? That's kind of how it would work here. Naturally there's those people that wouldn't write the essay (or win in Plat) but they really aren't the focus of the discussion here.
Also, Vet Packs are a godsend for Rares.

I can understand people feeling that way, but you agreed with me that the store system is unfair, so why should the system stay unfair just because some people already "finished"? I'm not asking for UR's to become easy/quick to get. That's why the pack SHOULD be expensive (perhaps my original "price" was lowball), that makes it so it takes time and effort but you won't be dumping/wasting time/credits into ammo.

Just play, and they'll pop up when they do.
If you could just farm ultra rares with an ultra rare pack, it would defeat the entire purpose.
Yall need to quit whining, just play, you'll get em when you get em.

The think is the random part of the store is what kills it. How about 1 UR weapon for the average expected money spent PSPs to get one - about 1M credits? That way there's no unfair advantage to those who have invested the hours already, and there's a guarantee for those who save up?
See I'd be perfectly fine with it even if it was that expensive, I'm not against UR's taking time to get. If there was a pack that cost 1M than I could have gotten several UR's, instead my credits got burned on useless ammo.
@Grinch
To be fair my comment wasn't really directed at you so much as several very obnoxious troll comments.

I only need 4 more UR points and I'm done, spent over 3.4m credits in the past 2 days and got 1 UR -- that's insane.

Too bad "RARES" have 4 packs DEDICATED to them and "Uncommons" have a pack dedicated to them. The fact that "ULTRA-RARES" are hurp-durp hard as gold to find when "RARES" are water, is the most insanely inane thing I have ever witnessed about this game, and the most inane thing to support.
Also honestly, the only one being disrespectful and passive aggressive is you. We're not your "inferiors" and you are not our superior (Teacher vs Children). You really can't call others children, when you're being one yourself. I have no ill towards you, and I don't see why people having a differing opinion from you, really require to be belittled.
Its also different to politely ask about an UR pack, and demanding one. This thread is simply asking.

Yeah I can see what you're saying. Do you feel that 700k-1m would be unreasonable? What would you set it at?
As I said in a different comment, I don't care how expensive it is (though I think 1m should be the ceiling), I just don't want to keep burning my money for nothing at all.
Also I respect and appreciate you actually discussing our differences of opinion politely and rationally.

If they are very expensive it wouldn't defeat the purpose. I've never been a fan of the random store but it didn't bother me until I spent millions of credits and got ammo (aka nothing).
