Has Bioware ever commented on the UR drop rate? I remember Bryan saying about it one time. I think the pool is that large and the game is a year old now. It wont do any damage to implement an UR pack at this stage.

I support this idea 100%. The game needs to feel less grindy.

I'd love an N7 Pack or something, all it would contain is one UR. No consumables. Just a UR.

Game was on sale for 10 dollars. I bet quite a few people bought the game and now are screwed on the hopes of ever being able to max their weapons. I bought the pc version in december after giving up on the ps3 version. Having so many UR cards is rediculous and insulting to your player base. Game is also free on PSN through the plus program so there are more and more players that join everyday. I don't want to talk about how much real money I used to get where I am, but you are getting no more without a UR drop increase or a UR pack. Listen to your customers!

I considered buying the trilogy with a mate on PS3 (I currently play on Xbox), I thought that with at least the weekend ops I could get some semi decent guns and hopefully unlock a few rares. Now I wont have the time to invest in a new version of the game because it will take me forever to unlock the ones on the Xbox.

I am still missing two UR guns, I had only just hit 60 UR unlocks out of 120 when reckoning hit, pushing that up to 60 out of 160, now it is 63 out of 210 after dropping nearly 4 million on packs. The amount of unlocks and the speed of them just crushes.

This game had the biggest player base on Xbox, yet it wasnt even the 1 of the top 20 Xbox games since the summer. The point of the UR is to give you something to play for but the drop rate is just too low and too variable (best dry spell I have heard is 12 mil). I could see me playing this game for months to come if I am rewarded for playing it but instead of feeling I had fun, I just fel frustrated when I open 10 packs of lvl IV's.

What about as a compromise adding UR level IV weapon consumables and releasing them with an UR pack? That way a garaunteed UR but not necessarily a weapon. Price it at 199k or even 299k.

I don't envy the guys with maxed manifests.  If BioWare doesn't create a new pack with a high price/guaranteed UR, I'm OK with that.  I don't grind, I just play the game for fun.  I also don't feel "entitled" to a maxed manifest.  In the slim chance that BioWare does roll out a new pack, I'll buy it, if for no other reason than just to finish off the manifest, so I can play the game without giving a rat's ass about credits and just have fun.

Which is the whole point of playing MP, for me.  Not a maxed manifest, not grinding for credits, but to have fun.  I suggest you try it.

I dont need max URs to have fun. I just want one of everything. I want to at least experience all the content, and i believe everyone should have that chance as well. Once i get my last 3 URs, the spitifire, lancer, and valkryie i will stop grinding and running optimal classes for credits and just do as i want. So i guess we are in the same boat.

I just cant stand arbitrarily being denied functional game content. Not get a banner? fine. Not get a stupid or interesting camo? Not a problem. Oh no, someone has a cosmetically different but functionally the same gun? IDGAF.

i have invested over 400 hours in-game, i have done the grinding and yet i am still denied new content. Thats not right.

Go to hell. Do you not get that people are sick of seeing level IV consumables? That compromise is a b**** slap to the face.

A reasonably priced UR pack is now needed to save the game.
People are going to stop playing if they spend their million credits and still end up with nothing.

(1) No need to be aggressive and rude
(2) As someone who has everyting but URs maxed, I do indeed understand being sick of level IV consumables, and I certainly understand your frustration with it
(3) My suggestion was a compromise between those who want a higher UR chance and those who feel that doing so would invalidate all their hard work up to this point

You can disagree with me without being a child about it.

Dude, you have over 400 hours in the game, really not that long, but you're not a newbie, either.

Two weapons that only came out in the last DLC and one that has been out a bit longer, but still somewhat new, that is what you have not yet unlocked.

No one is denying you new content and no one is doing you wrong.

I don't care about appearance upgrades either, but they come soon enough, if you've already maxed your other rares (I have).

Stop grinding, run your optimal classes for credits, just do as you want now, the last three URs will unlock in time, don't sweat it.

Not trying to rub salt in the wound, if you like head shots, you'll really like the Lancer.  I also really like the Valkyrie.  Neither of which are maxed.  Don't worry about a Spitfire, unless today's buff really changes the weapon, it's not worth breaking a sweat.

I look at the Spitfire as a UR upgrade sponge, much like the character appearance upgrades you mentioned, it's just taking upgrades away from weapons I want.  But you know, that's OK too.  I will enjoy the upgrades when I get them, until then, I'm just playing for fun.  Good luck in the store, really.  If all of us are lucky, maybe BioWare will increase the UR drop rate now.

OK, new approach. How about a guaranteed UR pack with just 1 UR in it. The cost 500K AND 2 hours game time since you bought your last one. That way people cant speed run to a max manifest but play 'fairer' games. They collect this information anyway so it seems feasible. People will play which is what the game needs.

400+ hours in a game that isn't an MMO is ridiculously long.

Saw a good suggestion in another thread (I apologize for not being able to give proper credit to the poster)...

Why not allow the 1st level of a UR to be bought, with succeeding increases being subject to the luck of the draw, as is currently the case.

As the poster noted, this would promote variety, and give everyone a chance to experiment.

no.... grind and spend like the rest of us had to do

You and many others like you seem to be missing the point that I adressed on page 7 of this thread. The point being that grinding now is harder then it used to be (or more tecnically speaking there is less reward for grinding)

In a sense, time invested in the game when support is at it's height is worth less than time invested when there is very little support for the game. Players who have been playing for longer got to enjoy new DLC being released, weekend challenges and weekly balance changes to get excited about. Someone playing the game now doesn't have those things to look forward to now making it even more of a grind to unlock the existing content.

In order to balance the diminishing support Bioware should be lowering the grind in order for the game to remain as fun as it used to be.

The idea of Ultra Rares being... well, Ultra Rare was somewhat of a nice idea back when there were still only six Ultra Rares available in the pool (The Black Widow, Wraith, Scorpion, Talon, Saber and Paladin). However, we now have 21 Ultra Rare weapons in the manifest, which means that the Ultra Rare pool has been diluted so much that the chances of getting them are quite slim. And this is alongside the fact that Premium Spectre Packs now drop Level IV consumables that drop more often than Ultra Rares.

Given that support for the Multiplayer seems to be officially dwindling as resources are being poured into future projects, having a pack that gives Ultra Rares would be a very good idea. They already gave the players the ability to get the N7 Arsenal weapons without Commendation Packs, a pack that would allow current and future players to be able to get guaranteed Ultra Rares would be a good send off at this point. You still wouldn't know which Ultra Rare you'd get anyway since there's now so many of them, but at least the grind to get an Ultra Rare would less involve the element of chance.

Currently, I get one UR out of every 40 Spectre Packs. Not always, sometimes it takes 50, other times I'll get lucky and find one in around 30 odd packs, but as things stand now I have yet to get a UR in less than 30 Spectre packs. Thats an average of one UR for one million eight hundred thousand credits.

I dont care much for those odds...at all.

i agree we do...i understand the reason they dont, but it would be nice to have a pack that guaranteed you at least 1 ultra rare every time you opened it....they could make the pack cost 500k, but it'd be worth it as far as i'm concerned...

other thoughts:

no, it wouldnt punish people with maxed manifest...they were lucky enough to get a maxed manifest...cause that's all it boils down to: luck in the store....others, like myself, that have spent a lot of time, credits, and money havent been lucky enough to max it....and since the game is nearing the end of it's cycle, it would be cool to unlock everything the game has to offer...cause i dont know about others, but i like to have everything unlocked (not maxed, unlocked)....it makes me want to play the game more when i do....when i dont, it makes me feel like i'm being cheated by no fault of my own

I totally concur. Between matches and real money I only have 2 weapons at 10. Moving the commendation weapons over makes it even harder especially given that I do not even have the venom yet. I had a great UR streak going and it's totally dried up. It's an RNG store that they have total control over and they know what is spent in real money vs match money. They also know when they are going to turn the servers off. The business person in me says there is no way they change the drop rate of UR's as they want people to keep playing and spending until they have the next rev of MP available. It's only good business on their end. I would not expect the next rev of this to improve. All that said it still ticks me off.

I think the next MP should allow you to purchase an UR set. That you then must level up through play and purchase. Anyway...totally ticked.

Honestly, if it cost 300,000 credits and 400 MSP, it would be worth it.
