After loading one of my saved games, a bunch of my gear is missing, and on-load, my character dies, then gets resurrected with 1 hit point.
How do I get the gear back?
The missing gear: cloak, boots, shield, helm (weapons are all accounted for)
equipment missing after load

What module? Magic gear? Any item with a Constitution bonus equipped?

Sounds like you have a module load script in your override folder that is overriding the standard script and stripping your character. Try emptying your override folder and see if that solves the problem.

Well, this is how I solved the problem:
For each item that was missing, I used the console to create an item for that slot. Then I equipped the created item. At this point, the item that SHOULD have been in the slot appeared in my inventory, and the item I equipped was in the given slot.
Basically, it looks like the items just aren't visible in their slots (in the inventory window) but are still there? So swapping items (equipping a new one in place of the old) gets them to appear again.
This was in the OC, I did have something with +Con applied, and the items all magic items. Cloak was from the harvest festival, nasher's boots, headband of intellect, and can't remember the shield (think it was of Dawn).

sounds like a side-effect of one of the multi-classing mods; Ciacciu notes it on the Vault:
- but (a) it didn't kill ya, and (
it happened only on levelup ... zoning from one area to another also makes the items appear. Tho i guess it depends which mod(s) are causing it,
/cheers
... after the level up you can no longer see some of the equipped objects from your inventory page, and you have to wear another object of the same kind to make them reappear in your inventory.
- but (a) it didn't kill ya, and (
Then put them back in, one or a few at a time, if you want to see what might cause whatKaldor Silverwand wrote...

Thanks.
The only custom thing I installed was Kaedrin's, everything else is stock.

By default, Kaedrin's PrC pack changes the behaviour of +CON items so that they are no longer beneficial items. On every area transition, game load, and rest, those items will inflict damage on the wearer, even unto death. I removed that behaviour from my installation manually, but I've read that later versions provide some method of disabling that function (I think through editing a 2DA).

Is there a reason that change was implemented in Kaedrin's PrC pack, or is that a bug? The amulet my character has does what you describe.

apparently it counteracts a really powerful exploit in MP-PW play. Without something of the sort in place, a PC w/ a +con item can get as many Hp as he/she has patience for ...,
in SP.. *shrug.

Yes, as kevL says, it was an intentional change. But in single player games and modules, like I play, I'd say you're better off disabling it. Check your copy of the readme file for info on doing that.

Yeah, Kaedrin's Pack changes some things in order to "balance" (forgive me if KPack doesn't match my idea of balance) PWs. That CON fix can also make you lose HP when polymorphed. I haven't toyed much with those options, but I'll see about disabling it next time I play.
If the missing items bug is the one I'm thinking about, it's relatively normal. I have it happen every now and then, but I just keep playing normally until it eventually fixes itself.
