Sorry friend, but it seems that you truly take evrything that Bioware produces without any kind of criticism. I agreed with you that the ending of the game wasn't bad after the EC, but come on, this dlc is not hilarious... it's cheesy and pretentious.

Pretentious? Right. You sure your not looking in a mirror?

Ad hominem is the onyl way you can answer right?

That word has another meaning beside "a person who keeps demanding stuff". Go and check it out:

"1. Claiming or demanding a position of distinction or merit, especially when unjustifie
2. Making or marked by an extravagant outward show; ostentatious. See Synonyms at showy."

At least restore my faith in humanity by admitting "clever doesnt stop a bullet" line is stupid as hell.

I don't know, seems right up there with

"I'll smash your virtual ass into actual dust" and "I'm sorry, I'm having trouble hearing you- I'm getting a lot of bull**** on this line." and "I'll relinquish one bullet. Where do you want it?"

Not really, considering Shepard was in a no-win situation. Not really in the place to threat anyone or be arrogant when your clone just clevered your ass and got you into a bulletproof field.

The other lines are cheesy, sure. But at least Shepard (or an angry Krogan :P) have the right to use them.

I suppose, though I like to think that shepard knew the clone forgot about glyph, because he sent glyph off to do whatever before the confrontation.

I think you misunderstand the definition, since that second definition is merely to show the act of expressing the definition above. Essentially it means making a show of your claim for distinction or merit.

Such as announcing to people how something is beneath you, or posting how inferior something is where everyone can see it.

From the merrian webster dictionary.

http://www.merriam-w...ary/pretentious

: characterized by ]pretension: as a[/i] :
making usually unjustified or excessive claims (as of value or standing) <the pretentious fraud who assumes a love of culture that is alien to him — Richard Watts>

b[/i] : expressive of affected, unwarranted, or exaggerated importance, worth, or stature <pretentious language> <pretentious houses>

2 : making demands on one's skill, ability, or means : ambitious <the pretentious daring of the Green Mountain Boys in crossing the lake — American Guide Series: Vermont> — pre·ten·tious·ly adverbpre·ten·tious·ness noun

Claptrap, pretentious, meant for effect, barnstorming... whichever you like. My native language is Hungarian, so "forgive me!", but sometimes I may not use some words approprietly. I thought - and as far as I can see it isn't completely stupid from my part - that "pretentious" has something to do with "it aims too hard to make you impressed".

So, it wasn't an ad hominem from my part to the poster, but an adjective I used to describe the dlc. Anyway...

I do apologize, It's so easy to forget that this is a multi-national board. With that definition, I believe there is another word to it, but as far as I can tell pretentious is similar to bragging, or demeaning something while elevating something else to a higher standard.

Still, I apologize for my rudeness earlier.

OP, I have a question (about human behavior).

Do you like the endings of ME3? I'm wondering if those who like the endings of ME3 are more likely to note/dislike the Cheese factor of the Citadel DLC than those who hate the endings.

Well I personally hate the endings, for a great deal of reasons that do not involve "it's too sad". And I basiclly agree with the OP to a great extent. i know you weren't asking me, but I figured I would provide a larger sample size.

Yeah, I personally liked the ending. Though I'm not sure if it has to do with the cheese of the DLC, there are some people in the thread who have expressed love for the DLC which I know also love the ending and vice versa.

I hated them and I also hated the more extreme cheese. I don't think that's it at all.

For me, the endings and the parody quality of the DLC come from the same place. They don't feel like they're paying respect to the rich, intelligent world they've created.

Seeing as how this "ruch, intelligent world" has been going downhill since the start of ME2 right to the end of ME3, I rather Bioware make more products like this since this is cleary what the current Bioware is good at. Video games are about having fun, also Citadel did character interaction and getting to know them better then ME2

I'm not the OP, but I like the ending (post-EC) very much... and yes, I dislkie the eye-rolling one-liners, forced puchlines, cheese, chest-pounding bravado and the overwhelming amount of references... oh and the comedy flick feel of the dlc.

But if you are interested about what I think of the dlc, here's a short review from my part which I wrote to one of my BSN dudes as a PM:

The level design is truly top notch in it. The combat is great and the gameplay is as cool as ever (I like the casino part very much). The music and sounds are great too. The script is fine despite it does not fit my taste as much as, say Leviathan (still my favourite), Bring Down The Sky, Overlord or Omega and there are way too many cheap and forced moments in it. Also the tone is a bit off. I mean it's really like some show's xmass special comedy edition, and the story of it  isn't something to remember. It's pretty silly and does not live up to the ME standard. I find the party absolutely adorable despite its out of place feel + the character moments are nice (many of them are cringeworthy and forced though), and there were quite a few (which is a slight understatement) stupid lines and moments in it as well, but the amount of content, features the devs put in there and the overall quaility is just amazing. It really is like a smaller expantion pack and a "gift" for the hardcore fans (basically it's less of a story and more of a fan-service dlc).

I have mixed feelings about it. It is not in my top-5 dlcs, that's for sure, and I kind of don't see it being a real part of the canon story, but a nice little nostalgy-dlc with lots of references, inside jokes and light hearted moments. Not for me, but it's not bad at all. I play these games for the story, lore and the interesting backround details, personal stories, and not so much for Shepard being a "hero man" and for the "friendships and romances".

So my verdict:

Pros:

level desing:9/10 (in this regard, all ME3 dlcs were very good)
Gameplay and combat: 9/10
Features, quality and quantity of the content: 9/10
Nice character moments: 7/10 (only 7 because of the silly, cringeworthy and claptrap moments)
Music and sounds: 8/10

Cons:

The plot: 5/10 (not that bad, but wouldn't call it good either, and it is far from being exciting) <- this is the most important part for me in a dlc
Stupid one liners and cheese + the many silly, immersion braking moments: 1/10...grrrrrr... and so many of them
Out of place feel: 4/10

Final verdict: 6,5-7/10 because of the plot's quality and the cheesy fan service stuff. Otherwise it is truly a quality dlc which worthed every single nickle I spent on it, even if it hasn't become my favorite.

So, they've already lost touch, might as well embrace mediocrity? Not exactly words to live by.
