Yeah, expressing opinions is trolling, but when many of you have been feeling the constant urge to express your thoughts about the ending in every single thread (the topic didn't really matter), that was completely ok. "**** please!"

It's funny to see how people who hate the endings love this and call it quality writing and vice versa (I'm in the latter group). It shows how wildly tastes can differ from each other.

You realize I hate the Endings, AND dislike the direction of this DLC?

What you and the Prothean say further justifies my point: It shows how wildly tastes can differ from each other.

But usually based on my personal observation I can say that most people who hated the endings love this, and many who liked it do not like it so much...

I loved the cheese but only as a sendoff to a great trilogy. I wouldn't want this density of it in a game proper or in every DLC.

That's why Shadow Broker remains my favourite DLC - I can't place Citadel above it because it's just a little fun, not meant to be taken seriously.

Are you trolling OP? This was probably the best DLC because of the humor

How so?  Personally I disliked the endings but thought this DLC was fun and enjoyable.

Generalization is bad.

I doubt they like it for what it adds to the story.
From what I seen they only like it because of the ridiculous things the characters do during a dooming war and how it is a way to say goodbye before the final battle or something, some even pretend it is after the final battle.
Most probably only like those bits, I myself would probably like them and pretend it is after the final mission.

I imagine pro-enders don't like it so much because it somewhat gives closure to the characters.

Add it to everything with a BW/EA label on it. That much/type of interaction between the squad was amazingly awesome. Epic.

Oh, I know that. Here I'm definitely in the minority when it comes either to the ending or the Citadel dlc. That's not the point. Point is that one can have an opinion regardless what others say, and it does not make him or her a "peasant", Jim.

Yes, you are right, as I agree with you on the ending, but the DLC was imho pure Gold.
So yah, different taste.

I don't care if they do it in future games or not. My problem with it is that it breaks immersion if the tone of the game is broken, and the self-referential, 4th-wall breaking jokes in the vanilla game really did this. It was cool for this last piece of DLC but only because it's optional and because it feels like it's part of something on the other side of the narrative border of the trilogy.

I hated the calibration jokes when they appeared in-game in the vanilla ME3. They were fun as a meme (but basically as lame as the "arrow in the knee" jokes from skyrim), i hated the "i will destroy you!" joke, which was a joke of another joke (rodriguez from ME3 imitating jack from ME2 imitating generic human female enemy lines from ME1)

Bioware can do whatever they want in my opinion, but only as long as they do everything in style.

Ah... also note I miss-read the post I quoted... one should not post while hungry lol

Personally I do think linking the endings but not the DLC is odd but then again I also have no real complaint about any of the DLC.

Also, on topic of the thread... Cheese is good... seriously could have used more lol

For a special side mission/DLC it was fine, and it was nice to see the writers have a bit of fun before moving on. But for a whole game it would be way too much. Just look at DA2.

I agree. The humor in this DLC is fanastic and I hope for more laughs like this in the future.

Yeah, a very clever thought indeed. It's because the people who like the ending usually hate anything which might be good... I've just heard that all pro-enders drink infant blood as apatiser before lunch... you take this whole pro-ender vs. anti-ender thing way too seriously. It's still just a game: a product which aims to entertain us. And as such it can be a success or a failure to each individual person, since we all have different tastes and our opinions are all subjective. This dlc is cheesy, but it aims to be cheesy. The ending is darkish and gritty, because it aims to be that... it's all up to us whether we like it or not.

But back to your remark: no, it's not the closure for those characters what irks me... actually to me there was enough closure in the main game itself... I didn't feel the need for more, but I do not dislike the things I dislike about this dlc, because "oh nooos" it gives more closure to those who hate the ending. I dislike it because I find it ridiculously cheesy, out of place and goofy.

Oh, sorry. Bad english...

I was just saying that: I was at Buenos Aires, it was like 01:00 PM in the afternoon and that... I skipped college because I was too lazy to attend classes.

So, meanwhile, I was having fun at this thread.

I'm... neutral leaning positive on the endings. I enjoyed the DLC very much. Yeah, cheese galore, but the purpose of the DLC was a send off for all the characters we've known over the years. Once I got past the dubious decision for Shepard to take shore leave, though at least they had the excuse of Normandy repair, I couldn't get enough of it.

I enjoyed the Citadel DLC quite a bit, despised the ending so much I never completed the original game and don't give a flying monkey crap for the extended ending. So, the perfect game to me, given the bones we have, is to install the MEHEM and the DLC and take THAT as the real ending of the series.

Yeah. it was ridiculously cheesy and WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY  too much of it. I think it was meant to be purposely cheesy though.
