Some of the lines were good cheese, some of the lines were stupid cheese. Overall it worked for this DLC.

The real problem is when the stupid cheesy lines are at moments that you're supposed to take seriously. Like "You're just a machine, and machines can be broken" back in ME1.

"This isn't about strategy or tactics!  It's about survival!"

"We fight or we die!"

Cheese trying to be totally serious is the worst kind of cheese.  Especially when said cheese is auto-dialogue.  Many a shoe were thrown at the screen, let me tell you.

During the final speech,if you choose Be ruthless, shepard says"You fight,or you die"

Remember the last time Bioware attempted a really sobering and philosophically deep story?

Thanks, but I'll take the cheese. Delicious, delicious cheese. Seriously, this is good cheese.

Exactly.

"Cheese for everyone! Wait, scratch that. Cheese for no one. That can be just as much of a celebration, if you don't like cheese, true? You've run a maze like a good little rat. But no cheese for you yet. Well, maybe a little."

I'm too drunk for this thread. I would say that I'd come back to it later, but it might be locked by then.

I feel ya OP, did not care too much about the main part of the DLC myself. Though it did not bother me because it was meant to be lighthearted.

Really, the DLC gets that much love? Personally I thought it was pretty medicore. Esspecially the Clone plot. The cheesy lines were not even my major problem (although it certaintly didnt help).

But you know, to each his own and all that stuff.

The first two parts of the mission - escaping the mercs and infiltrating the charity event - were excellent. The archives were a disappointment. The clone plot was the embodiment of stereotypical, but intentionally so, and it did actually fit into the bigger picture rather well. The idea that Cerberus might have created a Shepard clone is not at all far-fetched if you ask me.

You see, I mind the occasional cheese in the main game much more, because the main game is a serious story. This one isnt. I agree that the archives mission had too much of it for my personal taste, but all in all I think we needed something like this, especially the R&R part.

Look at it like the Star Trek 4 of Mass Effect, just like in that movie the campiness worked, the lines where (mostly) delivered well so they had their intended effect ^_^

I understand where you are coming from OP.
I really don't think I would enjoy an entire Mass Effect game with this DLC's cheesy dialogue and overall tone, but I did think this DLC was a lot of fun and great for what it was -- a sendoff for Shepard and their crew and a chance for the writers to just have fun writing their characters.

I disagree completely.

If anything, the rest of the game should have been more like this instead of trying to be dark and serious and failing more often than not.

Agreed. The dlc was so cheesy that during my firt playtrough I almost stopped playing. It was way over the top...

Sorry friend, but it seems that you truly take evrything that Bioware produces without any kind of criticism. I agreed with you that the ending of the game wasn't bad after the EC, but come on, this dlc is not hilarious... it's cheesy and pretentious.

Then why don't you go and watch cartoons instead... since the first ME was dark, obviously the 3rd game has been made to be dark. ME2 was more of an action flick roller coaster for Hollywood fans, to me that was the worst of the 3 (still like it though), but fortunately you can play it the way you want... so I didn't let the cheese flow in that one either. But this dlc is like some comedy or parody.

Aren't these all from the DLC? which is supposed to be a cheese-fest, or so i've heard. I think you could pick enough stupid lines out of the vanilla game, especially for Shep. I'm disappointed with the writing for him, very generic action hero which puzzles me when you have such well written characters around him.

15 bucks for a sit com is kind of expensive when fans did expect at least "some" lore content. Apparently there is NO more LORE to condend with in the MEU.

I've since decided that this DLC is aimed at those detractors over time with the gameish story have a lesson to be learned with the Jokeshep clone attack... as in "have some cheeeese with that whine.

I've since blocked all email spam from Anderson..kind of liked him too..sad really.
