I romanced Liara, Traynor, Tali, Miranda & Jack just to see as much of the content as possible.

But the one I really wanted was Samara.:(

And I would have been all over Brooks if it were possible.

Tali is my favorite because I love her shy and somewhat innocent nature. It makes her very endearing to me. Can't even see her face and she just attracts me for some reason. Her reaction when you first mention that you are interested in ME2 was adorable.

Liara...I like her intelligence and compassion, her curiosity and how she is amazingly driven for an asari of her age/dedicates herself to her goals. Of course, I also found her physically attractive once I met her on Therum. Also...Ali Hillis. The chemistry between Jennifer Hale and Ali Hillis is fantastic (...and Jennifer Hale outright said that Liara is her favourite romance!). I think it improves the emotional and romantic tone of the relationship to an even greater extent. The Asari are also my favourite race by far.

Of all the characters in Mass Effect, Liara understands Shepard better than anyone else in the galaxy. She's the closest thing that my Shepard has to an equal. Her work as the Shadow Broker, her work figuring out how to build the Crucible, and even her work creating the memory capsules in case the current cycle lost the fight is as important as Shepard's work in uniting the races of the galaxy. Their relationship had experienced its ups and downs (Illium...Liara doesn't drop everything to join the Normandy), which makes the romance more meaningful imo.

This all the way, specially the chemestry between actresses (you can guess I go femshep). The evolution of the character really makes the relationship evolve in a very unique way. The only other that could compare, even though most relationships are interesting, is the one with Garrus (the synergy between him and femshep is simply amazing). When it comes to male shep, Tali is also one of the more interesting options, great character evolution and just plain lovable.

Liara's Completely Superficial Bonus: she won't get saggy in my lifetime :D!

Seriously, how can you say that Troy Baker can't act in that other thread, and then suggest that Ali Hillis is a good voice-actress here in this thread?

Easily. One can act, one can't.

Yep, Troy Baker can act, Ali Hillis can't.

You don't see Square Enix investing a couple hundred million yen in FFXIII: Snow Returns, do you? Why? Because almost everyone in their target market this side of the planet reacted poorly to his character, and Baker is regularly quoted as being a large part of that, given Snow's much higher popularity in the east.

You honestly think Baker is the blame for Snow's ****** poor character development and the overall negative response to FFXIII?

Stop kidding yourself. FFXIII sucks regardless of the language setting you play on. And Snow isn't the only thing that sucks in FFXIII. The general plot, most characters and especially the ending, all suck.

So honestly, stop making stuff up that isn't true. Baker is not to blame for the fact that FFXIII and Snow both suck.

Interesting to hear you cared little for Liara's character, but still romanced her anyway? Why not Ash, given you see predisposed to military types?

Because Ash died on Virmire.

So, how do you enjoy the fact that every single character that Ali Hillis voices, sounds exactly the same?

I went with Miranda initially because she was the most attractive to me. However, what made me stick with her in Mass Effect 3 was the fact that she's very nice and cares deeply about you if you get to know her. You can see just how much she cares if you actually reject her in the 3rd game. I watched it on youtube and would never be able to do it in my game. Plus, I'm a bit of a Yvonne Strahovski fan thanks to Chuck.

When you save garrus on Omega he stays with you saying he's got your back regardless of cerberus or not.  When you run into Kaiden he says he loved you but he heard a rumor that you were with Cerberus and that's all he needs to hear.  Garrus says he respects you more than anyone in the galaxy.  Kaiden says he's sorry and blah blah he's meeting a doctor his friends set him up with...in an email.  I'd tell him to blow me but I'd doubt he'd be any good.

Garrus... awesomeness in it's purest form. :3

I had a few playthroughs with different a femShep romancing Kaidan... well he kinda ninja'ed my adept femShep into a romance. In ME1 he was decent but became really annoying in ME2 and ME3. If we had the vorcha interrupts in all Kaindan's conversations, it'd say "human no like Cerberus, human no like U" lol. In my sentinel playthrough my femShep was turning him down constantly and in the end she made sure he was dead... I don't know, but Virmire is mostly about who's less annoying in your opinion (or useful in combat) and whom Shepard wants to bang more. After they report to the ship of course.

But Garrus and my sentinel femShep. Hmmm. :3 Good sense of humor, awesome and warm voice, awkwardness, "lawful good" kind of personality, good sniper aaaaand looks better than your average turian, HA! ;) Also that visor, kinda cool and creepy at the same time. ;) Creepy cause he never takes it off, I kinda wander what he scans when Shepard orders him to "report to the ship". Heartbeat or something? ;) How can you not like Garrus? :3

If she were an option I probably would have had Shepard go that route on an alternate playthrough.

I liked both the out-of-her-comfort-zone and action girl versions of Brooks, which a preference for the latter. It also doesn't hurt that she is one of more attractive female characters in the series. <_<

Garrus fits my Renagon Vanguard FemShep. This is my main or self canon shep. In other play throughs I generally gravitate to Liara or Tali and sometimes Samantha. I don't know why.

I like strong women who also have a soft side (with me anyway!) and Miranda fit the bill.

Liara's my second choice, just because she's so sweet, innocent and earnest.  <3

I didn't like Ashley at all. Her rookie xenophobia, her religion. It really ruined her for me completely.

But then the magic of wonderful BioWare writing happend.

Through dialogue, where I really was just looking for a fight, I discovered she's well read and managed to conviced her, in the countless discussions that ensued, to drop her narrow-mindedness as far as making her suggest to save the council and sacrifice the human fleet.

Strong, real and into books. Oh and she's hot. That helped, too.

P.S.: I agree that ME3 really didn't showcase her good sides. But it's there.

I chose Ashley because she was a refreshingly realistic character, flaws and all.

She speaks her mind and doesn't let anyone (even Shepard, most of the time) define who she is or what she thinks.

Unfortunately, she got sidelined in ME2 and was underdeveloped in ME3.

1st playthough I imported a save with no romance carried through from 2. I romanced Traynor, really felt her character engaged with Shep.

Have since done romance with Ashley, Garrus, Kaiden and Tali, but still pick Traynor most times I play.

Although Miranda and Liara have very different personalities, there are also a lot of similarities between the two characters.

With the exception of Mordin both are the most intelligent of your squadmates, both are scientists, by the end of ME2 both are strong women and peers of Shepard and not just subordinates, and of your squadmates both play the largest roles in the defeat of the Reapers after Shepard. Oh, and both are also smoking hot. Image IPB

All of these shine if you play 1, 2 and 3 in order. Not if you jump in at 2.

Smart, Beautiful, Kind, Compassionate, Sexy, Strong..........how could I not choose Liara.

My Canon: The moment they made eye contact on Therum, he knew Liara was special, and she felt the same.

No one else in the series comes close to Liara.

Liara, for similar reasons.

She is with the exception of Mordin, perhaps the most intelligent member of your sqadmates. She's one of the more compassionate of your squaddies, while still being capablle of ruthlessness when the situation demands it. By the end of LotSB she emerges one of the more important people in the galaxy in her own right, and isn't just standing in Shepard's shadow. From the beginning she has also been the only character with whom Shepard could let down his guard for a moment and voice private fears or doubts, which only served to make his character feel more human. All those were factors in making Liara one of my favorite characters, and my favorite out of the LI choices.

It also didn't hurt that she is IMO also the most attractive of the LI options, and has the best romance arc of the bunch.

Wow--thanks guys for telling me about the availability of Kaidan for MascShep. My guide said he was only available for FemShep and the first time I tried the Whiskey wasn't available for the MascShep and he FriendZoned my Scottson. I took you guys' advice and romance bloomed. Yay!!

I've always picked Miranda and no one else. Always felt the most compatible with her and she's the one that rebuilt me (really enjoyed the dialogue of "I did good work putting you back together", "You Certainly do", *Kiss*), Plus loved her Citadel DLC content.

I have a lot of files :)

Liara/Femshep
Ash/Shep
Kaidan/Femshep
Garrus/Femshep
Jack/Maleshep

Most of the files are unfinished but they're there just the same. I began a fresh ME1 playthrough where I plan to take Miranda as my LI. I really like how my newest Shep, Anthony turned out and he's a sentinel one of my fav classes
