Garrus...why? Here's why...

Dat voice, those moves, them calibrations... how can anyone not consider a romance with this guy? Even straight men fall for him.

I have three "main Sheps." My Femshep, my Sheploo, then my crazy renegade Femshep.
Femshep:
Garrus, cause he's a adorkable fellow who can kick as much ass as his girlfriend. That, and their romance is so sweet.

Sheploo:
Tali, 'cause she's cute and can punch Zaeed.

Renegade:
Liara, since she's a pretty blue chick who turns fairly renegade as the series progresses.

Hmmm, all my Shepards are xenophiles lmao

Ashley because she's the most "normal" out the bunch. She's like a girl next door, simple, but at the same time not overly cute like Tali is. I like her poetry appreciation (which I believe most people hate) and I do not see her as a racist, like many people do. She's probably the type of girl I'd go for in a real life scenario.

+ she looks dam sexy in ME3

Well, I killed Kaidan, Garrus is my bro, Cortez isn't into me, I misread Traynor, Samara laughed, Thane was dying, Jacob is also my bro, and I thought Liara would fit in here, somewhere...

The reasons for choosing my LI?

More than I could describe in a short conversation.

I know we all like saying who our LIs are, but what made you decide who you'd pair your Shepard with? Were they the most attractive to you? Was it more of a role playing decision? Does the LI fit your Shepard's story/sensibilities/headcanon?

Because he got the worst rap back in the days and I wanted to know why. And I found someone wonderfully normal there, someone I'd like to know in real life. He does fit my Shep as she was a survivor, she has nothing beyond the military. Kaidan became her rock.

Plus dat Sbarge.

Well considering I only really had 2 choices and I don't like Cortez it made it an easy decision :P

Kaidan's easy going and loyal and has an adorable personality.
He's got a gruff voice.
Modelled after a hot gay guy.
Has the best romance arc, thank you console commands.
I don't know what else I can say, love is irrational.

I could never romance anyone else in the trilogy. Kaidan was even a selling point for the games.

I always choose Tali, reason for this being was that when I first got into Mass Effect it was with ME2 for the PS3, did not know a thing about the game aside from being able to make choices and good characters, so jumped in without knowing anything beside that got into it and the first alien interaction was with Tali-(didn't get Cerberus Network). Then met the rest of the crew and interacted somewhat with them, but I probably interacted the most with Garrus and Tali when I got both of them.

Anyways I kept interacting with Garrus and Tali(barely interacted with anyone else in my 1st playthrough), just because they seemed to know Shep more, both lost people in their recruit missions, and one was cool the other cute(especially her voice). Then I got to Tali's loyalty mission and just felt really bad for her when she found out that her father died. Then the whole reason behind the research and her choosing exile over her own sake. After all that I just kept interacting with her, chose positive responses then after the whole trust conversation it got to the whole thing about whether her being sheps LI was ok, at that moment I barely realized their were LI's in this game(1st game with them for me) went for it and thought it was interesting so chose her every time afterwords(even when I found out about other romances and bought a 360, ME1 and ME2 again).

As for character I do usually play Paragon so protecting my crew and her when she lost her father went hand in hand, I also have loyalty issues with some choices in games (Li's being one of these), then their the whole me choosing spacer in my 1st playthrough so I think it was an interesting/alright choice picking Tali, especially because she lost both her parents, having to live in a suit to survive, the whole situation that occurred in ME3, and me picking destroy has an ok outcome for building her a home on Rannoch, so I'm cool with all that.

I chose Liara on my first playthrough because.... what can i say, i like exotic. ^^
Also, i wanted my main to have my real-life approach to other 'races': the more diverse, the merrier.

She's intelligent, passionate, stunningly beautiful, and not afraid to lower her defenses.
Also, she's one of the M1 characters who don't give a damn about you working for Cerberus. She really cares about you.
Perhaps the thing i like most about her is how she harbors both vulnerability and great inner strenght.

Ok at first she's interested in you only because of the Prothean beacon incident.... but frankly i think that's a valid point only if you're the kind of guy who thinks women should throw their bras at your face on sight.

1st- Liara (sexy kickass nerd scientist alien? Way to push all my buttons BioWare...)
2nd- Ash, Miranda, Ash (Renegade Shep likes tough women)
3rd- Garrus (not completed ME3)...(ahh, too adorable for FemShep)
4th: Kaidan, Thane, Kaidan (not completed ME3)....(this FemShep has a thing for tragic, sensitive dudes)
5th: Tali (not completed ME3)...(not my favourite romance, but cute)
6th: Jack (not completed ME3)...(surprisingly well done LI)

She dated Liara in 1 because she had no choice

I mussed have missed that scene where Saren forced Shepard at gunpoint to choose between Kaidan and Liara.

Liara. Aside from the damsel in distress, she was the best developed of the two I had to choose from. Kaidan was an afterthought in ME1 since it was figured he'd be left behind on Virmire by about 85% of the players. I usually left Ash.

Tali

- In ME1 She doesn't jump into your bed, she isn't some stalker just beacuse you saved her from the mercs.
- In ME2 She loves you but it came after some time and she still didn't even dare to think you would like her because she is a quarian

Basicially she is humble, funny and cute without being perfect...most LI just HAVE to be perfect. Liara is Prothean expert and Shadow brooker, Miranda is perfect because was designed to be perfect, Ash is racist and thinks humans are perfect, Jack is dangerous and perfectly powerfull...and compared to them Tali is what? An admiral that everyone ignores?

All my choices during the ME2 Genesis comic were random because I didn't know the characters and what they were doing. Liara became my love interest for ME1 and it has been that way ever since.

In ME2 I didn't pick anyone because I didn't know about romances. With FemShep I generally don't like any of them. Thane and Irikah's story is so beautiful that I got teary eyed when he told me how they met. It never felt right to romance him, it goes against my personal belief. He should be cherishing his perfect memory of her.

Garrus never felt right either. He's too much of a best friend and a brother no matter which gender I pick. Jacob, knowing that he cheats, is pointless. And that's all FemShep gets in ME2 for romances lol.

As BroShep it's Tali all the way. I played the entire game in ONE FREAKING SITTING, to romance her in ME2. I didn't do side missions, but I played ME2 for almost 20 hours straight just to get to romance Tali. If that ain't pathetic then I don't know what is.

I always go with Miranda.

She's beautiful (if you say Ms. Strahovski isn't, I will kick you in the back of the knees), she's incredibly intelligent (brought Shepard back from death), she's and excellent soldier and biotic, all on top of bein a good leader.

She also doesn't immediately start groveling at Shepard's feet like some others do. She's initially skeptical of him, even implying that she believes Shepard to be a liability. Her loyalty mission marks a turning point, where for once in her life someone is coming to her aid, looking for nothing in return. Shepard helps Miranda save Oriana because he cares. Shepard is one of the few people that sees Miranda as a human being and not a tool. Over the course of the game, Miranda's romance feel the most "right" to me, as well as being the most mature.

Her romance continuation in ME3 is alright enough, but her Citadel DLC content is f**king amazing.

All my early Sheps romanced Liara because I couldn't stand Ashley. Liara seemed a more complex character than Ashley and I liked that although she does kind of creep on Shep which gets a little creepy over time. My Shep was of course always pining for Kaidan!

Liara got dumped for Kaidan of course in ME3 but I would have always picked him first if he was an option earlier because I really like his character, he's down to earth, treats Shep as an equal and is fiercely loyal (he's rather nice eye candy too of course).

I picked Liara for my main, mostly because Ashley seems like and anoying religious and uneducated grunt. (also I'm not a fan of poetry, even if some people call it culture and claims it has educational value) Not saying Ashley is horrible, but I don't think I would want to spend the rest of any life with her, every day...

Liara, not perfect, but I don't mind having her around. I know a lot of people think differently on that subject.

I also liked Tali, she's very sweet, except for her initial somewhat over the top Geth hate, but it's understandable given her people. Ask a Quarian about geth pre ME3 and they will say they are untrustworthy killermachines. As the Geth about the Quarians and they will say pretty mcuh the same thing, you can't trust a Quarian but you can trust the Geth! Least that's what VI Legion says at one point, I would assume that's the general opinion among both population groups.
She also has to wear that suit most of the time, even if it's a fairly attractive suit!

Jack might be a little bit too damaged to me but she isn't that bad tbh.

Miranda, I'm not exactly the miranda type but she has her redeming features.

I picked Miranda because she has alot in common with Shepard (high expectations thrusted on to them both) and she treats Shepard more of an equal rather than Shepard being the all high and mighty and great voice actress (Yvonne Strahovski)

The character development was amazing in ME2 with her being the one who brought Shepard back to life (granted she did want to put a control chip in Shepard) but Miranda does change by trusting Shepard more and thinking of him of less of a liability, Miranda does open up her emotions alot more the further you go with the romance (she is not quite on the same level of emotions as Jack was in ME2 however) and I like how she was designed to be perfect but in reality she is not perfect because of the part genetics cannot change which is human nature (i.e. able to make mistakes).

ME3 romance was not bad but a lot better than quite a couple of romances, however the Citadel DLC I think hers was the best out of all them because they felt more like a relationship with them talking about having a normal life and Miranda commenting on the amount of property damage he causes.
