I choose Liara, Miranda, Tali, and Traynor. They never abandoned or judged you for working with Cerberus.

Edit : Tali had some flaws when we met her. She had a temper issue, hated the Geth, and her leadership skill was questionable to say the least. But by the end of ME3, she over comes most of these and becomes one of the most 3 dimensional characters and improves here good qualities.
She was the only female squad mate to be in all 3 games and her romance seems to be the most natural from what I've seen. So yeah...<3

I know we all like saying who our LIs are, but what made you decide who you'd pair your Shepard with? Were they the most attractive to you? Was it more of a role playing decision? Does the LI fit your Shepard's story/sensibilities/headcanon?
Jacob was so perfect and sexy OMG. How could I not. Like Kasumi said: I was living the dream!
Kaiden's nipples won out in the absence of Jacob and any other viable interest. I must say his cameo in ME2 after repelling the Collectors from the colony did have me wondering a bit.
Steve Cortez is good looking and really nice and all but it feels weird given the looming late love interest in his life already.

1.She has a really interesting culture and history.
2.She had her flaws like racism towards the Geth but showed a willingness to change unlike Ashley. (I am sure Ashley isn't as racist as she starts out but the ME2 reunion proved that she wasn't open minded to new ideas)
3.She got junk in the trunks and hips that could kill. I could watch her dance all night long.

After romancing Liara in ME1, and through the Shadow Broker content of ME2, I got myself accidentally locked in with Sam in ME3. By accidental, I mean that I didn't think flirting with Sam would be any different to hooking up with Kelly in ME2, ie. no real effect on your main romance. By the time I finally realized that this wasn't the case, I really wasn't bothered as I love Samantha's scenes. Since then I've gone back and run my Liara LI run through, but it's just not the same.
I like the dichotomy with Sam - romantically aggressive/confident, but socially awkward.
That is one thing I really like about her too. It is sort of refreshing to see that mix.
I didn't romance anyone in ME1 or ME2, though I would have in a heartbeat if Ash had been available. I really liked Sam in ME3 though, I thought she was adorable acting and really cute. She actually matched my Shepard pretty well too: both were quite techy (my Shep was an engineer) and both had colonist backgrounds. Plus her relationship offered a sense of normalcy that I think my Shepard would have definitely wanted.

So i guess it's mostly based on the LI overall character, not really sure attractive really matters much when there all very attractive looking at least so I guess it comes down to how much i like the personality and back story. Although I guess Ashley personality is the only one that kinda stands out to me as annoying because of her some of her personality.

I didn't even know you could hook up with squad mates until the middle of the game or so.
I picked Tali because I found her to be funny despite her being such an awkward character, I don't really know why I picked her, probably had something to do with Miranda being a ***** and Jack was just insane, and the Asari creeped me out
Looking back, I would have picked Miranda over Ashley any day though. But I've never actually gone with anyone but Tali, I made a female character once and went with Garrus but It just got too weird for me and I stopped playing it.

Williams cuts you loose in less than 3.5 minutes on Horizon after not having seen you for two years and believing that you died. Most people would have had some questions or at least demanded an explanation. Not Ashley, she just cuts you loose and jets. Miranda stands by you and places both her life and her sister in danger to do so. That's loyalty and it is a quality that Williams apparently doesn't possess in any great quantity. Further, Miranda doesn't lie to you like Williams does and with the Citadel DLC she emerges as the best female LI in my opinion.
As for Williams, I let Hackett deal with her and her incessant accusations.

Why? Because, he was just so... good. Decent and sensitive, smart and strong, affectionate but not overbearing... nicely shaped, with that voice... and while in 1 & 2 his face was always kinda the weak link for me, as soon as I saw that ME3 promotional picture he was in with Shepard & Liara (the one my avatar's based on) I was floored by how handsome he was.
I've roleplayed other Shepards who pursued other love interests, either because they'd had feelings for Kaidan and lost him on Virmire and tried to carry on, or because pursuing someone else was more consistent with those Shepards' characters-- like the xenophobic jerk Shepard who totally dug Ash's racism and then gravitated to Cerby Miranda after he lost Ash at Virmire-- but for me it's Kaidan all the way. So much so that my r/l hubby be jelly of the character, I think because he can tell that if Mr. Alenko were real, I'd find him irresistible.

Once the initial cheese was out of the way, I particularly liked that Liara was the instigator in the scenes just prior to Ilos, and have enjoyed watching her grow in confidence across the three games as I've played them - her lines towards the end of the trilogy, such as the 'tentacled monster' one in Leviathan, are priceless for being as endearing as they are geeky.
As compelling as the Asari race and Liara's personality are, tho, I think a lot of it is Ali Hillis's voice acting, and Hale's ability to connect with it. The pair work amazingly well together, and layer a lot more to their lines than the script never adds directly. You get a real sense of mutual respect between the characters that's never actually stated as such in the script, but comes across in their VA's infliction and tone. The way the trilogy paces the iconic trades of 'I love you' and slowly cements the relationship after the upheaval in ME2, also gives the VAs a real opportunity to add weight to their closing lines, and I think both women nail that opportunity perfectly. The bonding at the end of ME3 and the exchange at the close of Citadel, are real tear jerkers.
I must admit, when I found out Ms. Hillis had been chosen to sub for Maaya Sakamoto in FFXIII's localization, I was ecstatic - there are few western VA capable of matching someone like Ms. Sakamoto. Square chose wisely, and I do wonder if the ME1 performance was the decider in that choice. In the western release, Lightning and Fang always were the best things to come out of that setting.
So yeah, all blue, because her VA is awesome, and she's one of very few characters in the trilogy that aren't damaged goods and don't come with baggage. Will be sad if she doesn't appear in the next set of games. Shepard was only ever a narrative mechanic, but personalities like Wrex, Liara and Garrus made the setting work. I do sincerely hope that we see them again, even if it's just as background NPCs or mission plot hooks.

As a bisexual guy in real life, I felt I could just go with whoever I like the most in the trilogy, and it was Garrus. Great sense of humor, calm, courteous, reassuring, endearing, handsome (although I could apply this to most Turians), and I love how awkward he gets the further it goes in ME2. When I learned he wasn't compatible with MaleShep, I completely dumped the idea of making a MaleShep.
Tali's cute, ME2-3's Liara is interesting, I once had considered Ashley in ME1, and I've heard Jack's romance is great in ME2, but they aren't even close ; if the characters were real, I would choose Garrus, it's no-contest.

My guy Shep always has Ashley and than quickly dumps her for Miranda, mainly cause I don't see any other options.
I love Garrus and Tali but I've never romanced them cause I see them more as being Shepards best friends

Haha no, Ali Hillis sucks. She's a mediocre voice-actror at most.
Seriously, how can you say that Troy Baker can't act in that other thread, and then suggest that Ali Hillis is a good voice-actress here in this thread?
Back on-topic: On my first playthrough I romanced Liara, but I can't say I particularily care for her. I actually thought she was pretty goddamn annoying in ME3.

Easily. One can act, one can't. You don't see Square Enix investing a couple hundred million yen in FFXIII: Snow Returns, do you? Why? Because almost everyone in their target market this side of the planet reacted poorly to his character, and Baker is regularly quoted as being a large part of that, given Snow's much higher popularity in the east. In the mean time, Ali sees her third headliner for the company - arguably her fifth if you take the two Dissidia's into account - and I'm sure will see more as the spin-off's continue. Why? Because she and Maaya made Claire breath life. She's almost as iconic as Cloud and Tidus are now, and the quality of her VAs went a long way to making that the case.
Anyway, keep discussions in the threads they belong, ne? Troy's ineptitude isn't relevant here.
Interesting to hear you cared little for Liara's character, but still romanced her anyway? Why not Ash, given you see predisposed to military types?
