The sense of awe and innocence... Meeting people that will become lasting friends. Yeah I really like ME1.

It has random encounter Thresher Maws.
I'm almost ashamed to admit that those spawns are anything but random.
You mean if you look at the map and there seems to be convient arena area on it... That's a coding issue true... but till you figure it out, nothing beats just trucking around and the ROAR!!

ME1 is the best game of the series.
- It had the most amount of RP elements in the game
- Less intrusion in the form of annoying cutscenes
- No idiotic enemies that make no sense (Phantoms & Dragoons)
- You can pretty much go where you like and do what you want
- You have a speech skill tree
- No tactical cloak in ME1
- Realistic combat in sense that there was no combat rolls

I think it's because of all the terrifying experiences burned into my brain that I know every single time I venture into a large flat area there's going to be a maw waiting.

Yep, I've just started a new ME1 game. Now that I know all the options, I can finally play my definite version of the story. One for a maleShep, one for a femShep.

The ME series is one of my all time favorite series of games and ME1 is no exception. Prior to ME3 I put 3 sheps through ME1 and 2 Its just been a while for me since I learned to use mods in Skyrim. MY brother still plays he just got his first infiltrator through 1 and 2 and started him up in ME3 yesterday

You bet I do...It may be clunky, but it's still a gem.

I'm going to be starting a trilogy run sometime this month. ME1 is my overall favourite of the series.

I've been thinking about starting a new Shep in ME1 but as a completionist the thought of doing those Mako missions again gives me hives. I'm shamed to admit that I've been editing ME1 save games and starting out in ME2 to get new experiences. I think after my current obsession has lifted I'll give the series a break and play something else. When the bug hits again, I plan on starting from ME1 again.

Hell yeah Ive always got a trilogy playthrough going, as for right now I have two Sheps to playthrough; one waiting at the beginning and the other near the end of ME1. I find the first game the hardest to go through but I cant not play through it, you know?

Finished ME1 a few days ago (I still love it, clunky or not), working my way through ME2 and hopefully I might get to the end of ME3 as well...

ME1's combat system may not have aged very well, but its still one of the best game out there. Why else would it still be on the shelf six years post release?

Did two playthroughs in January with classes I hadn't tried before… Followed directly by ME2. One of them has finished ME3 already, the other one's a work in progress.

I played ME1 three times, but all before touching ME2.
NEVER. AGAIN.
NEVER. AGAIN.

Still got six playthroughs sitting at various stages of ME1 to finish. Then those along with two others part way through ME2 and eventually all of them through ME3. ME1 has a certain charm.

Yup. Still a fantastic game, even if the combat is clunky.

Yep, and made gameplay tweaks that smoothens things out quite suprisngly. It still is a great game despite its age and flaws.

ME1 was, is, and will stay the best game of the trilogy for me, and is the greatest game I've played (seriously). More than a game, an experience. I love this game, really, for ever !

Meeting Vigil is by far my most favorite part of the game. It's like a shining light of hope and mystery.

Just finished a complete ME1 playthrough a few days ago. Maybe just 2. I am currently (at this moment) playing ME2 and I am at Tuchanka meeting Wrex while doing some loyalty missions. Heck Yea!
ME1 Awesome. ME2 Awesome. ME3 Awesome.
My only real issue with the series is the number of random bugs/glitches/freezes that occur while playing this trilogy. I have beat each of these games a ridiculous amount of times, and still I have just ran into a few "new" glitches in both ME1&2 that I had not previously seen before.

I am playing ME1 right now. But I think after this it will take some time for me to play it again. All this side-quests, searching for turian emblems and driving with the mako... it is fun to do it once in a while, but there are just too many for my taste. Would have loved to see more main story in ME1 and fewer side-quests. On the other hand, ME3 did not have enough side quests... but it's just my opinion.

ME1 has the best story, ME2 has the best characters, and ME3 has the best ending.. oh wait...
ME1 had the best cohesive story (least plotholes)
ME1 also had the most equal romance arcs.
ME1 had sideboobs.
ME1 had exploration.
ME1 did a good job with some characters, but one (Tali) felt a tad incomplete.
ME1 also invented a bad inventory system and a mediocre combat system.
ME2 had the most characters.
ME2 had a lot of great characters (Mordin, Miranda, Thane, ...)
ME2 had a good combat system.
ME2 suffered too many distractions of the main plot, despite being useful recruiting and loyalty missions.
ME2 invented the plot-length plothole.
ME2 also invented an awful boss (Human Reaper).
ME3 had the best combat and upgrade system.
ME3 had the least cohesive plot line (riddled by plot holes and totally stupid stuff)
ME3 had THE ENDINGS
So, I'm still playing ME1 to remember when ME was good. I still play ME2 since I want to know when ME had the best potential to become a lifelong experience as full trilogy. And I still play ME3 to see how it failed.
