I would like to ask you the following.

Of the tempoary squadmates from Citadel DLC.
How would you rate them in terms of combat abilities?

I've literally just started Citadel DLC so no opinions formed yet...

Brook is the enemy.

There all great, its really a matter of preference. Kasumi might be the strongest, Her power stacked TC + Overload is insane.

Kasumi was my favorite squadmate from ME 2.
Looking forward to having her in my squad in Citadel DLC.

Wrex is a f***ing beast when it comes to combat :o give him a shotgun like the Claymore with an omni-blade and high-velocity barrel mods and he will decimate enemies with melee attacks and shotgun blasts (only thing to note with him, though, is that his Stimulant Pack power can be bugged where he'll get into a loop of constantly activating the power over and over, draining both his supply of Stim. Packs and Lift Grenades).

Like Wrex, Grunt is also a krogan killer in combat, but in some ways, I like him a little better than Wrex - his Fortification has better bonuses than Wrex's Barrier, plus he can use an assault rifle and has Incendiary Ammo.

Just as she was in ME2, Miranda is an all around great squadmate who can strip shields and barriers (Overload, Reave) and armor (Incenerate, Warp) and has a bit more survivability now thanks to Reave's damage protection.

Both Jack and Samara are powerhouse biotics, though I think Jack is slightly better cause her recharge speed is through the roof thanks to her class passive (though she doesn't have Throw or Reave like Samara does).

Haven't tried Zaeed or Kasumi very much yet, though I noticed Kasumi's Tactical Cloak is bugged on the 5th "Recharge Speed" Rank and Zaeed seems to be aggressive with his assault rifle.
Haven't bothered to used Jacob.

You didn't use Jacob.

Is it because he cheated on you?

Have Grunt and Wrex with claymores with you, it's murder.

Pffffffff, I was never dumb enough to get any of my FemSheps in a relationship with him. :P

Just never had much interest in using him or his skill set, either in ME2 or ME3's Armax Arena (especially when other characters have better skils to use).

You can't use Brooks in battle. So she shouldn't even be on the list.

Wrex is amazing. He freakin' just melee kills everything. He actually uses his grenades/stim packs which is nice to see the AI do. (Also meleeing stuff is also great to see the AI do.) Though I don't think I've seen him use the grenades, just the stim packs, which for some reason, uses grenade ammo. I also don't see much of a difference when he does use the stim packs, maybe because I can never tell what they are doing or when he is using them.

I used Jack and Kasumi a lot in 2 and was disappointed with them in 3. Tactical Cloak in place of Shadow Strike is just.... no. Jack without shockwave isn't as good. Yes, I know, she has it, but 3's sucks so much compared to 2's. She gets warp which is nice.

I don't have Samara (took Morinth), Grunt or Miranda in any playthroughs so I can't comment on them.

Jacob is pretty much the same as in 2, but with Lift Grenades. Big whoop.

Zaeed is still good but has Carnage in addition to CB. And really, I just don't get why he has both. I know saying "they're pretty much the same" is going to start something so I'll just say again, I think both are unnecessary.

Overall, my biggest gripe with the squad is that they come with some of their skill points spent, which considering your other squadmates don't, I really don't get, and can not put into words how much I dislike.

Stat buffs are something that are really hard to measure.

I see +X% to stat Y and think, ooh that's useful.
I then use the ability frequently.

For all I know, that stat boost is bugged and doesn't work.

I liked ME 3 shockwave.
Not as much as shockwave in ME 2. That was epic.

Still there were moments where I found it useful.

The only time I like Shadow strike is when I'm ordering Kasumi to perform one in ME 2.
I never liked shadow strike when playing the N7 Shadow.

The only time shadow strike is fun for me is when Kasumi is doing it.
Now you're telling me she lost that ability. THE reason I put Kasumi on 2/3 of the missions in ME2.:crying:

Miranda was truly one of the best squadmates to have.  The combo of overload AND biotics was perfect.  You were pretty much free to select ANY other squadmate with Miranda on the list because she covered tech and biotic bases well.

I was thinking I missed something BIG in the Citadel DLC with you all talking about using Jack, Kasumi, etc, until I saw you just meant in the Arnax sim game.  Too bad.

Question: if Ash is your LI is there any scenes on offer in the Citadel DLC that gets with her in that role?  So far I have only had her in the party FLIRTING WITH VEGA.  Gah!

Did any of ya'll notice the disturbing armor on Brooks? Its design around the crotch made her look like she was sporting a "dude package". Creeped me out.

As for Wrex...is he also a "beast" if you REALLY use him as a squadmate in the real fighting in the DLC?  I did a run with Liara and Ash but wonder about how to change it up for another run (I wish Ash had overload).

She flirts with Vega if she is your LI?  Ugh... I had to witness that in the game where I was with Miranda.  Do Not Support Hook Up.

In any event, haven't done the party yet but if she is your LI she is the one that rescues you at the car dealership.  If you take her to the Casino, her opening dialogue is slightly different.  When you meet her at the bar at the Casino after the mission, the dialogue is again slightly different than if just friends.

Poor Jacob. Yet again, he manages to be one of the most useless squadmates (I'm certain this is another reason people dislike him). Even with Lift Grenades, how he's just an inferior Javik without Dark Channel with a poorer weapon set. The only alternative I can think of is he's less squishy than Javik because of Barrier but that's not nearly a good enough trade.

Miranda, nice to see one of my favourite ME2 squadmates maintained her usefulness and diversity against all enemy types. Incinerate seems redundant but I guess it's there if you want more tech powers than biotics. Surprised that they took away Slam but I didn't like it anyway and I guess they wanted to emphasize Miranda as an armor stripper. I'm hesitant to put points in both Warp and Reave but I guess it's nice that she now has something to combat her squishiness.  I definitely miss her squad weapon buff but I guess I'll take the shield recharge delay.

Not sure what to think about Jack yet. Her getting Warp is a really good buff since she has nothing against enemies with any sort of protection in ME2. However, she was also one of the best against unprotected enemies in ME2 next to Thane thanks to Shockwave and I was really disappointed with her Shockwave when I tried it out (never played a character that had it prior). I'll probably just use her for Pull and Warp then but there's no shortage of those characters in ME3 and many have better weapons.

Didn't try Kasumi in ME3 yet but you can never go wrong with a squadmate that has Overload.

Samara is a biotic that also uses assault rifles. A trait that only Javik shares so I think she's decent.

Zaeed seems like an alternative to Ashley if you didn't save her in ME1 minus the bugged Marksman.

Wrex and Grunt need no introduction.

Oh god yes :P I took him and Tali with me on through the Citadel Archives and when we retake the Normandy - with a Claymore that had an omni-blade and HV barrel, he was just destroying mercs left and right.
