How much of a role do BSNers play in Balance Changes?

So, the balance changes are here. Some good, some bad, so ugly. But this isn't about what we like (buffs) and what we don't like (9 URs in two weeks?Posted Image)

This is to ask the question, how much do BSNers impact ideas for balance changes.

Ex. 1: The Collector Ascension Mode

Chris Priestly, himself (I believe), stated that they had no plans to change Ascension mode (toggle). However, I made a thread requesting some duration changes, while others made some damage taken changes:
Thread

Ex. 2: The AIU

Those who hop on BSN already know the examples... don't need to point them out

Ex. 3: Buff the Spitfire
Ashen Earth Thread
Tyhw Thread
Very Seed Thread (video)

Ex. 4: The riots on the Talon powers

Again.. no examples needed

Doesn't it seem like BSNers are having a rather large impact on these balance changes. Doesn't it seem like the most vocal, ever-present, albeit extremely annoying, posters seem to have quite a large impact on the direction of the game?

What does this mean for ME3 or ME4?

Coincidence would be BjornDaDwarf bringing up the case to buff Barrier and it gets buffed on the same day. On the other hand, the buff involving Annihilation Field rank 6 was acknowledged by a Bioware staff (Chris Sanche I believe) in a public thread. After a little back and forth discussion, he said he would bring it up with the rest of the balance team to see if anything could be done. If that argument wasn't brough to light, Annihilation Field would have never recieved that buff that following balance change.

But I do agree that most balance changes were not done because BSN brought it up, but because Bioware themselves did their own testing and made a change that happened to be what in line with what some BSNers thought. I believe the AIU is such a case.

Just going to hop in here, balance changes were never put in the same day. Generally the balance changes need to be in place thursday. I was the one who made the suggestion about buf****g barrier.

can you give us some insight on how the buffing/nerfing process works since you're obviously interested in this thread?

Its a number of factors, the game play guys would spend at least an hour a day in game testing different things.
We would also hold a weekly meeting where we would be asked what we felt should be changed. How people came up with their suggestions varied from person to person.

I would believe that BW has it´s own data they use to balance game, but right now the only conclusion I can come to is that BSN actually has quite big role in it. Because ever since Reckoning, I met like 5 Edi´s in pugs and only one of them seemed to be able to use her to full potential, yet she got nerfed like that....
just my 2 cents

I played a factor in discussing the AIU from my own experiences

how many game play guys is that approximately?  do they just pick random characters?  do they stick to the newer kits/weapons?  at least an hour, but how many average per day?  how long are your meetings?

and a little off-topic, what's the one idea that you may have had that you wish didn't get out voted?

About 5 designers, I dont really know I am not involved in their sessions.

Yes there was a few balance changes that I suggested that didn't get put in place, and there is a good amount that did. I wont be going into specifics though.
