I guess my question is so what? So what if you live your entire life and never max it?
The way I look at it, once I max everything, why bother playing? That is like the ENDGAME. It should take forever.
That, my friend, is what we veterans of Battlefield call the "Fun Period," and it is spoken of in legend. It's that magical time where you have everything - no responsibilities, no specific need to use a class or build beyond what you, specifically, want, and you're there specifically to screw around and try new things. With that much at your disposal, you can really get creative with builds and setups, trying weapons and kits that were never intended to be combined, and finding new ways to use them.
This is where the game stops being grindy, and starts being actually fun.
I had fun from my very first game. If you didnt I truly pity you.

I have a question. If I have all rares maxed and I want URs, should I keep buying PSPs or Arsenal Packs?
I believe Arsenal/Reserves have been found to have a much higher UR drop rate than PSPs. So I'm not really sure what the purpose of PSPs is now.

Coolz. Thanks for the info.

The Worst thing about the store is that some players are always more luckier than others, which is complete BS.
(Some maxed new UR with 20 million. while some didn`t even get half filled with 20 million credits)
I agree with others. Making acquisition of UR easier cannot possibly do harm to the game at this point.
(Of course, with decent limit)
I had a maxed UR manifest before Reckoning, but being on PS3 didn't even realise promo guns existed until I found BSN, so a lot of promo gun unlocks left. Spent 12 million from reckoning until the balance change, and got 11 URs. Spent two million since yesterday, and got a single Hurricane unlock.
Honestly it seems pointless to even try to get Lancer unlocks, past all the other ones I don't want, so I can accept my manifest isn't going to get better, but that is demotivational to play. I still will, for fun and friends, but I'll be spending a lot more time on other games.
Tl;dr buff UR drops

We havent got any more DLC to look forward to which means that the game has to be able to survive off of us chasing those UR's currently in game.
Considering how many platinium games one can do in a weekend and that ME4 wont be out untill 2014 (about a year from now), i'd say that those are quite appropriate numbers.
That sort of unlocking methed leads to frustration, though. Not community survival. The game should be able to carry its weight because it's fun, NOT because I need to get as many credits as possible as efficiently as possible to unlock everything I want in a random order. The Challenges are what keep me playing on a regular basis, not the URs.
And once I get Best of the Best, I'll be out of things to accomplish. I'll play the game simply for fun, but far less often. What's the point, when I could dedicate an entire day to MP matches and get nothing more than a bunch of ammo powers and thermal clip packs? I'd have more of a motivation if I know there's a decent chance of me unlocking something, THEN more of a motivation once I have everything unlocked that I've been wanting.
I doubt there are many, if any, left still willing to pay actual money for packs. At this point, there's no reason to further frustrate players and damn the community to dealing with speed runs, Rio farming, exploits, etc.

I've currently got (after the promotional weapons were included today) 97 URs out of an available... 210. As in, less than half. And when you factor out the N7 promotional weapons, since I've earned one for simply playing on every weekend one was available, I've actually only unlocked 61 out of an available 160. That's less than 40%, despite the fact that I've maxed out everything else possible. And I've put over four hundred hours into this game's MP.
I understand that these are supposed to be "ultra rare". I also understand that grinding is a necessity in an RPG-esque inventory system like this. I get it.
But that's just goddamn ridiculous. I'm not going to put in another 400+ hours into this game just to max my manifest. Sorry. I love ME3, but I've got other games to play that I've been neglecting. It's getting close to my "goodbye" point.

16 URs, and +5 more when promotionals flip over. Average of 1 UR per 1 million spent, if you are lucky (I'm not). This means you'll need 21,000,000 credits, spent _solely_ on PSPs, RPs or APs, depending upon which god you worship.
Assuming perfect play and extraction, and zero use of consumables, and a glittering career spent solely playing gold, you are looking at around 2620 games played before you max your URs.
In reality, factoring in the surprisingly high 42% fail rate from the recent data sheet, and a JEP every third game for real life consumption, and you're looking at well over 4000 gold attempts to max your manifest. How on God's green earth can this be seen as anything other than perverse?
So ... Consider this signed. (let me know if my maths is wayward, but I don't think it is...)

I almost never run out of equipment because of it. Plus when I do I just promote my characters and focus on trying new builds, or changing things up.
If you solely play for UR drops the game will get repetitive and infuriating, and it really wouldn't matter if they add %5 or %10 chance. People are going to feel it is not fast enough.
After people can always just speed run max out their manifest and eventually get bored and abandon all those UR they wanted so much

And this is precisely why I'm likely to slow down how much I play and soon after stop entirely because I have little interest in playing another 100% of my time to max it all. I've been playing since launch day.
I think it's incredibly ridiculous for BW to do this, but that's just me.
Agree. I am curious, how did those people with max manifests do it? they spend real money on packs?
Or are they MP crackheads?

When I achieved it, it felt pretty meaningless. Now I longer care about my manifest.

WTF? You guys just complaining about the rarity of ULTRA RARES? That getting them is a chore? Stop playing MP then if you treat it as a chore and not fun, as it's supposed to be. I'm playing from the beginning and still finding new way to play. Mastered just a few characters, moved through all the weapons, trying new combos and builds. URs are just coming from time to time. On plat I found out that except hurricane and sometimes harrier, I'm using mostly gold weapons. Oh, I didn't say I had a bad time when playing Drell Assassin with build that was piercing half of the map with Javelin, but still - most of the time I'm playing with gold weapons.
Rarity of Ultra Rares wouldn't be such an issue if there weren't so damn many of them. I mean, there are almost as many URs as Rares.

So you are relying on a word to tell you how scarce an item is?
So tell me about the 500+ rares i have right now.
And i have tried new characters, i have tried different combos and builds, but you know what i cant do? MOVE THROUGH ALL THE F***ING WEAPONS BECAUSE THE STORE JUST WANTS TO SHOVE LEVEL 4 CONSUMABLES DOWN MY THROAT INSTEAD OF A SPITFIRE 1, LANCER 1, OR VALKRYIE 1. I, at the very least, want to experience all the content there is to offer and i cant do it with lolTroll store arbitrarily telling me im not allowed to progress.

Maybe I should PM this directly to Eric? I think it's important considering that the playerbase is actually declining because of this.

i doubt you will get much of a response other than "working as intended" or something else just as bland. i really doubt they will ever do anything with the drop rates as it makes them money with the way it is now (arguable about the decline in players = fewer micro transactions)
