No. Just no. WoW isn't a particularily grindy game, but 577 hours is just 24 days. Most WoW-players will have spent easily 10 times that on the game. And I think it is very unlikely that any WoW-gamer has aquired every item in the game

No, these rates are way beyond ultra.
This. And how many people are going to say this without realizing that the fact that you can get guaranteed rares in packs undermines the argument entirely. Verbiage is unimportant. And making UR packs more expensive than other packs means they're still harder to acquire, and therefore more rare.
I'm sneaking up on 700 hours played, and wasn't even close even before the Promotional weapons were added. We need SOMETHING to improve the odds.

Keep in mind this is purely theoretical, most people start with basic weapons at 1 and quite possibly CAN`T play platinum, or even gold. They will have much harder time. In the end, I`d argue that's a MINIMUM time, not even an average.
Aye. 1000+ hours is probably a more realistic figure.

Entirely correct.
Not to mention that real human beings usually get bored with Platinum after a while and like playing Gold to actually have fun. Or are going after N7 challenge so need to play a few Silver games to level up classes. And on and on.
It's definitely closer to a minimum time than an average, even for a better than average player.

I suppose there is no real reason to go against increasing the UR rate so everybody can enjoy the ME3 MP while it lasts. 500k UR pack would be most ideal. +5/1 consumable, 2 uncommon, 1 rare, 1 UR

Did it ever occur to you that the game designers may not have intended for everyone to unlock every weapon to level X?

Total i have spent more time on WoW than i have done on this game (over a year, counting most of them, and dont play it anymore) and it still possible to get full epic gear in less than 2 weeks... as it is i see epic gear, rated as ultra rare weapons, and N7 weapons as legendaries... Still... I like to farm for it... I just wish i had a certain droprate guarantee xD
EDIT: And yes i have Raided those damned bosses week after week for upgrades of my gear, and NO i do not intent some randomly weekend reset of events for this game... It is awsome as it is

Platinum Pack. 1 guaranteed UR, 1 guaranteed IV equipment, rest in medigel/missiles/ops survival/equipment. Bam.

At launch we had 8 URs to unlock. That's 80 unlocks in all. Assuming that never changed, that's 79,200,000 credits, or 528 Platinum games. At 25 minutes a game, that's 13,200 minutes, or 220 hours of solid Platinum play.
Still a bit on the absurd side, but actually manageable.

I think the beauty of this game is that you dont have to farm. You can do perfectly well on the highest difficulty with only rares (in fact the games arguably most powerful weapons are rare). If you wish to grind, feel free, I prefer not to

Platinum didnt exist then. And without proper understanding of the game and no access to gear etc a gold game was often closer to 45 than 25 minutes.....

Hard to acquire is fine, but this is just absurd now.

Noone asked you to do it, nor do you have to do it to enjoy every single aspect of the game. If you do not enjoy every one of those 577 hours I suggest you do something you enjoy instead.
