Actually no... They can fit for a female too.

Personally i prefer the 1st name to be player chosen rather than set in stone. I was fine with the useof Hawke in Da2 and Shep in ME.

*sigh* Definately female too. My name is actually Taylor, and 90% of the time when someone hears of me, but doesn't meet me face to face, they assume I'm a woman.

Just out of curisosity; was you first DA2 character called "Sylvius the mad Hawk(e)?"Sylvius the Mad wrote...
I hate this idea. I still object to the fixed surname. That's also a terrible idea.
My first character in any fantasy CRPG is always "Sylvius the Mad". Any game that doesn't allow me that exact character name is a lesser game in my eyes.

Well, I've nothing against set first name provided that I like it. Since a custom one is never used in-game, the RP part of choosing it is kinda lost in translation. Except when it's a character to whom I become very attached, in which case I'd rather name them myself. And also for keeping track of who's who in case of multiple playthroughs.
All this to say that I'm in two minds about that.
Not to split bosons, but set name is used by NPCs, so "turning" the game to VO has little to do with that. Unless you mean turning from a completely silent game, which DA never was, so no "turning" there.Dragoonlordz wrote...
[...]I still find it a shame they don't allow full name player chosen even though I understand why they did it because of the addition of turning the game into a VO format as opposed to silent. [...]

Hayden, Drew...I would be embarrassed if these were names of mine.
Male-orientated female names are not cool.
Also, Ryan and Reese are never ever in any aspects a female name.
