Why Muliplayer will die without the Ultra Rare Pack

Ok, you may have seen my other thread discussing the idea of such a pack, which I called the 'Black Market Pack' at the cost of 500,000 supplied 1 Ultra rare and a 50% chance of a second (Another person posted the idea in the thread, I can't take credit.)

Now, seeing how I have played apx. 100 hours of multiplayer sense release (I am kind of casual and rather busy) and received 3 Ultra rare upgrades, not counting the promo weapons. This is out of 160 potential upgrades. It will take apx 53 times as much time to max my Ultra rares, thus 5,300 hours of gameplay.

That would be 219 days of playing without any sleep, bathroom breaks, eating, or going outside.

Now seeing this, can even you people who believe in Ultra Rares being ultra rare agree that we need a new pack or at least a buff to to drop rate.

What do you think Bioware? BSN?

How long are your games?

Because 5300 hours seems a tad excessive....

Apx 30-35 minutes for gold.

But I was figuring for new players who have to climb up like I did too.

I think if you want URs you need to start playing more Gold and Plat.

And if you're playing Bronze/Silver then URs are overkill in the extreme.

5300 hours?! I think you might be over exaggerating a little.

30-35 minutes is very long for a gold game, and you're not counting all the time you spend during that first 100 hours playing bronze/silver. Maxing the URs (before Reckoning and promotionals becoming URs) seems to take most people between 600 and 800 hours. Yeah, it's still a long time, but nowhere near your 5k+ estimate.

All luck of the draw. I've played Around 5 times as much as you and I have 62 URs so I don't see how Mp will die without it.

I'm not opposed to the pack though just your reasons for demanding it.

I would support either a UR pack or an increase in UR droprate. Im quickly approaching 1000 hours playtime and since they just dumped all the promos in there too I still need about 60.

yeah, I'm over 1,100 hours and I now need 28 unlocks, but only the 5 left for the hurricane are of interest to me.

Even with 30 minute gold matches (lol) it's unlikely that it will take 5300 hours to max your manifest.

Average is about 1 UR per 1 million credits spent on PSP's as you get more UR's you'll find they tend towards this number (hurrah for the law of large numbers).

Therefore you need to spend roughly ~210 million credits on PSP's to max your URs.

Assuming very conservatively one PSP per 2 gold games (and two JEP's) that's 4200 gold games or 2100 hours with your 30 minute matches.

In reality, the number is going to be more like 1.5 PSP's per two gold games or 1400 hours. If you take into account that most matches on gold run for 20 minutes, not 30 minutes, you end up with around 900 hours.

On the other end of the spectrum: if you learn, on your way to a maxed manifest, how to speedrun platinum glacier, you can make at least ~ 600K credits/hr (including the cost of missiles and time spent in lobby) which corresponds to maxing your manifest in ~350 hrs.

Those are the *real* numbers.

Because people only play the game in order to max their URs.

Agreed, I have 400 hours, more than skyrim and dark souls combined, and I am approximately half way done, maybe a tad more

With an UR pack that gives 1 UR for 500k, it would take 1000 gold games to get all 160 ultra rares. That's 500 hours of gameplay.

Assuming you have a 50% chance at getting a second in each of those packs, only 375 hours.

What MOST people seem to be saying is, though, that such a pack should be 1000000 credits. To them I say SOD OFF. With the addition of promo weapons to the mix, that's 2625 gold games assuming you NEVER fail. Assuming you complete those in 30 minutes [and disregard ANY time between games] that is 1312.5 hours of gold.

I agree with the OP in that a pack that guarantees an UR and has 50% chance at a second is MORE than fair. 400+ hours of gameplay to acquire everything is still far too much in my opinion, but it keeps those that earned it happy and those that haven't happier than they were before.

It's more in the 1.3K hours department, in your scenario. Which would be approximately 55 days without any sleep, going outside etc. Do not envy those that has played that much, approximately 15% of their time since release, pity them instead.

That's right. It shouldn't be all about unlocking the URs. That should just be a side goal to having fun. All the more reason to have that side goal be more reachable and less aggravating.

To be honest I don't mind the drop rate. If I get something I get it. if I don't I dont. I still play anyways :P

At 95 hours. I currently have 12 UR upgrades, 4 normal URs and 8 promos. Playing mostly silver and gold like I do, the majority of silver [Hey, I still need to get every Rare but one up to level FIVE, let alone maxed], add the character/mod/gear maxing and the probable amount of Ammo IVs I'll get, it would take me a lot of time to max out anything, let alone get a decent amount of anything. That and add in ALOT of JEPs since I do use alot of consumables in gold, from ammo to amps to gels and rockets- I never go into a gold match unless i have like 4 of each at least, and only go in as a destroyer with a typhoon I and the usual 15-20 minutes from a silver and 20-35 from a gold, I've got a LONG way to go, especially this far into the game's life cycle.

Just for a point of view of someone who's on the lower side of the spectrum.

So where is your argument on why multiplayer will die? I see nothing to support your title in your text.
