Like I used to tell my ex-gf... Here's why you suck:
1. Your linear math is produces a false estimate.
2. Players spend WAY too much time in lobbies idle (gabbing, buying store items, prepping chars).
3. Playing a higher difficulty too soon (even the box-of-shame requires some decent gear and skill level so you aren't just slapped around like a hockey puck)
4. Over-extending the game (15min bronze, 21 min silver, 28min gold and fudge plat)
5. Not effectively playing objectives (I could go on all day about this).
6. No team/character synergy (Don't play what you want because you like it. Pick characters that compliment each other).

In short, don't waste you time/concern with trying to populate your manifest. Focus on shorter, more effective playstyles (and have fun). If all else fails, Kroguard/Geth is the OP way to go lol

Yes, the dry streaks can be a PITA. but alot of the people I see requesting store boost are VERY casual gamers (the weekend-warrior National Guards type).

Not every one wants to play one game and one game only for months/years just to get some different pixels.  I play mostly gold and have soloed it with different classes yet I don't play plat, why?  I hate it.  I just don't like it.  does that make me a casual gamer and not worthy of maxing my mannifest in a reasonable time frame? With the current system I can look at maxing my manifest when Halley's comet loops back around.

RNG hates you OP. I have 22 URs at 111 hours. I play mostly silver.

Buy more PSPs.

Yeah, I think it’s strange that so many people say “you want URs? Then do speed runs on gold/plat,” yet these are the same people that also say “play to have fun.”

First off, speed runs require a coordinated team, good equipment, and usually lots of missiles. If you’re trying to get credits to get good equipment, this might not be an option. Also, for some people, shooting Cobras into spawns isn’t any fun (just like for some people, farming FBW/Rio wasn’t/isn’t fun). Finally, for people who PUG a lot, speed runs are pretty much an impossibility. And Platinum without good equipment? Forget about it. The opinion on BSN seems to be that a maxed rare gun (or decent level UR gun) and level III/IV equipment is necessary, so again, if you’re trying to OBTAIN said equipment, this won’t work.

Finally, the “play to have fun” aspect. Personally, I’ve been having much more fun playing with guns that I LIKE, rather than the few that I HAVE; variety = fun, so not having variety = not as much fun. Also, playing to farm credits isn’t as fun as playing how you want to, and if that happens to be Bronze/Silver, or with a kit/loadout that isn’t effective, you’re penalized by not getting many credits, so essentially you have to weight “fun” against “chance to get credits.”

Honestly, I’m not trying to pick a fight with anyone here, I’m just trying to point out that there are different perspectives to this sort of thing; my two favorite weapons are the Talon and PPR, so if I didn’t have them,
I’d be missing out, which would impact my “fun.” And since I bought this game to have “fun,” I prefer having it. :P

I will tell you this... and really, this is for the ones complaining about spending an obscene amount of credits to max their manifest and spent the same amount of hours playing as well..

before I speak... here is my manifest

http://social.biowar...5&platform=xbox

many of you lie so much, that its pathetic

there hasn't been a single time in which I spent 4 million credits and didn't get a UR
there hasn't been a single time in which I spent 3 million credits and didn't get a UR
there have been times when I spent between 1-2 million and didn't get one

most of you who have played understand the game... when you start to have everything maxed out, you get it less and less instead of the other way around, reason for this is because you have already maxed everything else out and the odds are against you from seeing a single thing for awhile

the complaints on this board are the most idiotic, butthurt, pathetic, wimpy, etc excuses and whines and cries which I heard of outside of a preschool.

Its starts usually when there is a new DLC and people are clamoring for the new weapon or kit... you see these threads, now with the promo being UR... its even worse... this really brings the worse out of you pathetic pieces of vermin waste... you complain about nearly every damn thing in the game... you complain that you don't have it, you complain that need it so badly because you see others with it... you whine, you **** and you complain... then you LIE about the amount of time spent in the game, you lie about the amount of credits you spend in the game, you lie because you want to make you damn point, and most of you come off as pathetic when you do so...

didn't get it in a pack? grow a pair and play some more and spend more
you want another pack with a guarantee? frack you... spend like all those before you and play the game..

don't like it? simply destroy the game and stop being so pathetic and play something else

they give you free DLCs for this from jump... you have the option [not saying you should] to spend money to elevate your chances in getting one, they gave you a higher level of gameplay in order for you to gain more credits so you could spend on packs...

yet most of you moist tissues sit there and complain about the measly amount which you spend?

simply open your veins... not across the street but down the road.

and a hint... don't even look at the damn store until you have 5 - 10 mill... you will see how easily they will come..

now frack off you pyjaks

So according to you, I would need 5-10 million to have a chance of unlocking any of the new DLC ultra weapons? Yeah, no thanks.

Just a small side-note to your post: The DLCs aren’t “free,”
they’re being paid for by the store system. So yes, it makes sense not to
complain too much if you’re not spending any real money in the store, but it’s
not like the store system was created with players in mind; it was created with
the same principles in mind as you’d find in an MMO.

All I know is that instead of getting wanted upgrades to my spitfire or lancer, I got 2 goddamn Valkyrie upgrades. Thanks so much for dumping the 4/5 worthless promo weapons into the UR pool Bioware. Can't let single player make all the big mistakes right?

Lets say I go with the 10% drop rate in PSP (which I believe people have at least somewhat agreed is the low rate) that makes them worth 1million.

Technically, that makes them cost 1 million. Whether or not they're worth it is another matter. Personally, I'm going to go with "no". For me, the URs just aren't worth the time and effort it would take to max them out. So I'll probably never have the opportunity to play with a maxed manifest, which is a pity, because there are some interesting looking builds which I'd like to try. Kind of ironic that I might keep playing longer if it took less time to unlock all of the game's content, isn't it?

Now, with that said, I'd like to point out the one big problem with ME3's unlock system (as opposed to many other progression systems used in games) as an incentive to keep people playing: It's unpredictable.

In order for a progression system to work as an incentive, it needs to feel at least somewhat predictable. A skinner box that doesn't feel rewarding at least the majority of times you push the button is a pretty poor skinner box.

Now, when you're starting out, that's not really a problem. Every pack purchase nets you something useful, and that's the way it will continue until you've unlocked all of the rare weapons and characters. After that, the incentive goes out the window. Because suddenly you can't predict whether pushing the button will net you a reward (say, a Black Widow upgrade) or a kick in the nuts (Cryo ammo IV). And this is where the UR pack comes into play. Even if it's statistically more expensive than getting the same amounts of URs by buying PSPs, it's going to make the store a bigger incentive to keep playing, by making it more predictable.

A second point that pertains to fresh players is that, right now, the amount of rares and ultra-rares compared to uncommons is ridiculous. So it's high time that you took a look at the categories and shuffled some of the crappier ones down a notch. GPR? Make it an uncommon. Wraith, Crusader and Valkyrie? They're good weapons, but they're not shockingly good compared to many of the rares, and wouldn't be out of place in the rare category. Same thing with classes and weapon mods. A lot of them would be better off in the UC category.

That way, even if you do not implement a guaranteed UR pack (which you still should), at least you give the fresher players a reasonable chance at experiencing most of the content the game has to offer while there's still some life left in it. The UR category really shouldn't contain more than 10-12 weapons, and the rare maybe 15-20.

With the remarks regarding no further patches (including bug fixes) for MP, is a new item pack even remotely possible? It seems like EA has decided to let multiplayer rot on the vine for whatever reason.

Dude, its a game not a life lesson over your triumph over adversity and your defeat of the rng system.  There is not one good reason why there cant be a UR pack.  No one said it had to be the UR you wanted.  On a side note, just because it hasnt happened to you doesnt mean it isnt possible.  The fact is that every time you buy a pack you have the same chance of getting an ur.  It never changes and no matter how many times you buy a pack.  Its the same concept as flipping a coin, regardless of how many times you flip that coin it is always 50/50.
Finally get a grip, its only some pixels on the screen.

and then waste your time posting on this forum that you can't get whatever you want because the odds are against you, so you want a specialized item to ensure that you get something...

They already gave you a pack for elevating your chances to get what you want... and now you blithering idiots want another pack so you can get URs?

People complaining about URs must be unfamiliar with EA's model of store. This is the same model they use for sports games. URs are the lottery shot you're aiming for every time you buy a pack. Take away the chance aspect, regardless of price, and you defeat the model.

A chance at the loot/item you want is what many games offer. Even in old-school RPGs you had to farm some enemies for a particular item until it dropped. If you look at popular MMO games like WoW, Rift or SWTOR you can kill a particular boss each week for a year and conceivably not get the drop you want. The gaming industry has sort of decided for online games that the chance model is the way to go and a way to keep players playing their game. It's the same tactic casinos use with slot machines. Recognize this and decide if that game is for you or not.

BroJo, I would say many new players would decide to save up for a UR pack. Most of the silver and gold weapons are utter trash whereas a good majority of URs are excellent. A Harrier or any of the terrible gold ARs? A Javelin/BW or any of the bad gold SRs? Aside from a few rares like Acolyte, OP Reegar or Claymore most of them are just bad. If you're that new player who pounds silver matches to save up for a UR pack and get a Harrier or PPR, bam you're set for golds! ;p

At this point, with an influx of new players in the game from the anniversary sale they should up the credits from Bronze, Silver and Gold more than anything to help them catch up in terms of gear. That would be more beneficial and helpful than a UR pack that benefits the tiny, tiny vocal group on BSN.

Another aspect that I don't see being discussed is the fact that RNG is not really RNG....whatever algorithm is being used to generate these numbers is almost definitely looking at your play style and awarding items based on that. This can create unfortunate Catch-22 situations and certainly penalizes players with maxed rares for playing below gold/plat. For example, I've been playing MP consistently since Earth DLC came out and I generally prefer to have a weapon at least at IV or V before taking into a match...it took me forever to unlock the Hurricane, but since then squat.... i never use it cuz it's low-level, but RNG won't upgrade it cuz I never use it- Catch 22.

Then there's the fact you will never unlock URs playing below Gold/plat. While I am very comfortable playing at those levels, sometimes it's more fun/less stressful to take an unconventional build in silver, or tear through silver matches for 200 wave challenges, etc. I can tell you from experience that when I'm playing Gold/plat regularly, the UR drop rate is greater (not because I'm earning credits faster- the drop percentage is greater) rather than playing silver.....you can earn 5 million playing silver and never see an UR; earn the same amount in Gold/plat, you'll definitely see them.

I realize this probably falls under the tin-foil hat category of wild conspiracy theories regarding the RNG, but at least it's closer to reality than goat sacrifice!!

People complaining about URs must be unfamiliar with EA's model of store. This is the same model they use for sports games. URs are the lottery shot you're aiming for every time you buy a pack. Take away the chance aspect, regardless of price, and you defeat the model.

That doesn't necessarily make it a good model, though.

The gaming industry has sort of decided for online games that the chance model is the way to go and a way to keep players playing their game.

That's not exactly true.

Many games (such as the Battlefield series and CoD) use a predictable progression system where your awards are decided by your in-game actions. And you can't exactly deny that these are successful franchises with a substantial player base.

I don't even know where to start with this post.

your manifest says that you shouldn't say a thing... your manifest says that you should play more in order to get more, your manifest needs more love than the complaining in this thread.

your manifest says that you spend ~6 hours a day playing a single video game, that you need to get out more, experience the joys of life, get a girlfriend, be less entitled and condensending, etc.

The sad part is that even you don't have a maxed manifest.  That kinda makes the argument of having an ultra rare pack even more relevent.

That is tinfoil hat nonsense, sorry to say. I have a buddy who purchased PC version to play with a friend, did bronzes to level up and saved credits for a Reserve Pack. Got a PPR in his first pack.

Remember: Manifest time only counts time actually spent in matches. No lobby time, no menu time.

No time spent in singleplayer or other games.

You should probably relax a little, man; you seem more upset
about people wanting more URs than the posters are about not having them. Why
so much hostility? Is this somehow hurting you? I’m all for defending Bioware,
because they’ve done a great job, and the people we get a chance to talk to on
the forums seem like good people, but this doesn’t seem to be what you’re
doing. Try taking a deep breath.
