How far can I play ME3 and play the citedel DLC but NOT play any portion of the ending I am seriously thinking of getting this DLC but I never want to play that **** can ending again what is the absolute farthest into the game I can get before I need to do the citedel DLC and then walk away.

Just before the last cerberus mission is where you would need to stop. Do the Citadel DLC then and once its done turn off your PC or Xbox or whatever machine you have the game on. Done deal.

you can play the dlc anytime after the coup and before Chronos

do it right before you attack TIMs base, but after doing ALL side missions. that will ensure everything is unlocked
