Arn`t the origins just going to be as the ME ones? Meaning it just gets mentioned once or twice. You don`t play through them.

Finaly I'm nit alone. I mentioned a Grey Warden origin in one of my other post and I got a bunch of hate for it.

Grey Wardens exist outside of Blights, you could be an apprentice not even having taken part in the Joining yet or you could be one of the Wardens from Orlais or Weisshaupt even, it's a reasonable Origin

Yeah, that's what they said. Still, if the background options have a direct effect on the way NPCs and companions react to the Inquisitor then that'll be better than nothing.

It has been anounced that there will be origins in DA:I but they will be more like ME where you don't play them but will have an impact on the story. So I'm wondering what are some origins you guys hope are gonna be in it. I'm kinda hoping there's a Grey Warden origin or at least at some point you can become one. What do you people want to see?

Dragon hunter sounds great.Kinda sucks we won't be able to play through it tho.

Don't know what will be available in the game, but I would love to be:
1 - An apostate mage (freedom fighters!!!!)
2 - A Devoted Templar (Seeing things through the eyes of an extremist can be refreshing, and depressing at the same time lol)
3 - Member of Shadows of the Empire (assassins are badass)

CAn we have multi-tiered origins? Where we determine our home country and our profession?

Example: A Rivaini Apostate or a Nevarran Templar?

My guess is that there will only be 3. All from the same country due to VA restraints. Probably 3 like, coming from a noble family, something more criminal/poor and something in between. And they'll only change slightly depending on your class.

I'd like to play someone Antivan/Rivaini though.

Bioware, you made it clear your making the next protagonist a human.

since a Human and Elf Child is human in Dragon Age, a background that involves a Elf parent would make an acceptable trade off.


......though i'd rather be a Kossith or Dwarf.

Hopefully Bioware will read some of these threads and see how much we miss the races. Maybe they already plan on bringing them back but aren't gonna say anything until release.

I'm expecting it to be pretty simple, and frankly that's all I want it to be. If the origin choices are like Mass Effect's, then I'd rather than they not delve too deep, let me make up my own little story for things.

If there is a background that has an elf-blooded origin, I'm all for it.
