what would i want for my character? - well:
- Tevinter Magister (i just love the idea of a mage country, even more as mages are treated like dangerous animals everywhere else (worst are the Qunari...barbarians the lot of them!))
- Apostate (i just hate the very idea of the chantry/the templars - so i would love to play a character who has managed to slip through the cracks/kill templars searching for him/her)
- Demon/Spirit would be nice, if they could make it work
other then that, i do not have preferences - i just do not want to be a grey warden again (i like them, i just don't like to be poisoned and having my own live cut short - without the option of not doing drinking it) and most non-mage things do not interest me (in a world where magic is real, i would not want to be a "mundane")
greetings LAX

(can be read here if you never played it: http://www.gamebansh...ionaltraits.php )
That is, it gives you some positiv as well as negative traits, and might change your starting stats.

However, from reading this thread, I do think playing as a Tevinter mage could also be pretty awesome, especially with the stigma that comes attached (everyone from Tevinter is evil). That'd be fun as well.

I'm hoping that we have a choice of someone who had humble/normal beginnings (no mages in the family, no noble blood, etc) who through pure stubbornness and/or ability raised through the ranks. I know its cliche' but it works for me. Then we get to play someone who either remembers what it is like to be one of the 'people' or who forgets what its like to be one of the 'powerless'.

Orzammar Legionnaire (Dwarf), Dalish Hunter (Elf), would alternatively be great to have as companions, whilst having deep stories behind them with connections to powerful allies from abroad.

I was disappointed that there as no 'Human Commoner' origin in DA:O. A 'simple' farmboy/girl that has been practicing his/her fighting skills in the hopes of joining the local Arl's or Bann's guard or something similar.

This. From an underdog to a badass character/leader.

Just so I can go against tradition and be the nicest guy anyway.
A noble.
And Batman.

Chantry and the Inquisition. I think it could work and would fit well with the DA3 theme.

Mage given to the circle - agrees with Circles or (secretly) wants freedom
Noble- 2nd or 3rd child- career chosen for them by family and tradition- uphold family honor and tradition or be a black sheep
Middle class- Struggled to enter higher eschelons of society with career- want to belong or reform society
These are a few ideas and yes I did get the basis from Guild Wars 2
P.S. all of them want to own a horse

Tevinter Mage would be pretty cool to, and the option to be a sister of the Chantry.
