A pity I'll never play this class since the key binding will never be fixed. Ah well, maybe they play-test stuff in the next MP...
You can ask one of the PC smart guys how to mod your coalscend since Lord Fagnan has given his blessing to do so on this particular subject... supposedly it only takes a few minutes.
I'm sure Annomander can help walk you through it.

The damage buff they gave this guy is definitely nice. The biggest buff for me was making the bow fire in half a second. Makes it so you're not over exposed without shields waiting for your bolts to launch. A melee build talon is made out of tissue paper.

He got ripped to peices before... now he can kill the enemy before they even get a shot off.

So what is the preferred build of AP arrows now? a-a-a (assuming grenade capacity gear)?
Yes... a-a-a... and Grenade Capacity isn't really needed if you take 6a in the passive and stay on the move like you would with any grenade class.
I am quite... wasteful... in my application of trip mines so I should probably stick to grenade capacity...

Later on, I played the Talon in a Silver game and was very happy with the bow damage. I just wish he didn't still seem to be squishy.

I like pistols with power and melee mods. That way you can throw a cyclonic mod on to increase survivability without sacrificing much damage. The power mod takes the place of the amp.
Not using shotgun omniblade is significant loss of damage .. SIGNIFICANT

What the best melee build, weapon wise? A shotgun with omni blade, or a pistol with power amp/melee attachment?
I posted my build on page 2....
Weapon wise is still up for debate though... but we can pretty much all agree it's going to be a shotgun ATM.

Even with lag issues, a friend was totally rocking the Talon in a Platinum game yesterday.

He is pretty damn squishy.... he's gotta have at least one flaw lol...

What if you supplement your bow with an Acolyte shot beforehand? Would a shotgun Omni-Blade be better than an Acolyte shot + Melee Stunner/Power mod?

The reason the Shotgun Omni-Blade is best is b/c it provides a multiplicative melee damage modifier (this is huge vs bosses)... all the pistol stuff is additive IIRC.

High Lord Angel of Vanderbilt did some testing the other night and came to the conclusion that Cain Mine spam is still best.
Well, since all you really give up is some ranks in fitness the option of using the doesn't hurt I guess? And the option of one shotting dragoons with AP arrows certainly seems attractive to me.

Spamming Cain Mines is equal to every cheap weapon or tactic that is despised here. It's nothing better than Asari Valkyrie + Reegar + Incendiary.

So the Shotgun Blade will always be better than the Acolyte, even if you shoot first? Guess its time to switch over.

You'd a lose a lot of melee damage since it's multiplicative. That said, your Cain Mines would be stronger. So the question is, would you rather have a stronger Bow attack or a stronger Mine attacks?

Well... taking the shields off with the Acolyte would still be a decent option... then switch to the shotgun/bow... or you could just skip all that and take an ammo like Disruptor or Phasic and use the shotgun to deal with shields first (that's what I did).

It was last night, GMT+1 and that is when he tested it, had the best results with Cain Mine spam.

Pistol melee mod is also mutiplicaitve.
But, the Power Magnifier is not.

nope .. Acolyte will do more damage vs shields & barriers .. But vs health & armor shotgun bow combo would win .. And bosses have more armor than shields .. Also bow can 1 shot plenty of shielded mooks without acolyte ..
