Power Amp all the way.
Have not used him with the Acolyte... it's not needed for mooks b/c the bow OSKs shielded mooks... and I can just use my shotgun + Disruptor ammo to strip boss shields, then use the bow for the Armor itself.

I'd have to see how he plays in game but I would guess I would mine a few spawns and have the pistol or smg equipped at the start of the wave then swap to the shotgun after the initial spawns blow up into meat chunks.megabeast37215 wrote...

You underestimate the 30 additive's effect on the Cain Trip Mine. It's adds 810 damage vs armor, and with all the other bonuses added up, allows you to do up to 8k damage vs Armor per mine.
True... then that raises this question:
If you switch to your pistol/SMG when you lay down the Mines... then switch to your shotgun to use the Bow... do the Mines retain the damage bonus from the pistol/SMG while you are using the shotgun?
Ohh... I don't actually know if that's optimal or not. I was just asking a question to some of the smarter folks...

that sound pretty good. I used him last night with only the Acolyte and I did ok but I just hate that he is really squishy, I will try him with a shotgun next.

Try to stay away from the bad guys if you can... you can kill them with the bow from FAR outside their range.
Another reason I took the GPS is so I could stagger things... staggered enemies don't shoot, except dirtbag hunters.

I'm thinking Venom possibly but the heavy blade probably actually adds weight there whereas I don't believe it does on the GPS. More stagger over wider AOE with a charged Venom shot.megabeast37215 wrote...

Area stagger is kinda redundant though... if there is a bunch of enemies that need staggered, just Mine Spam or GPS spam.
GPS is also easier to "aim" at long range... for me anyway. My Charged Venom shots always fly way off target.. not just from the projectile drop, but them seem to drift laterally as well.
I haven't unlocked the true badass potential of the Venom though... I'm not afraid to admit it.

I doubt you're going to see much in game benefit from a small increase in shields from Juggernaut Shield. I wonder how much extra you get with an extra 8% melee damage if you take hydraulic joints?KalilKareem wrote...

By the way, what's the deal with the Weight Increasing Mods on the Grenade Regen? I'm not sure if BioWare uses the same recharge mechanic on the Grenade Regen as they do on the powers and the Powers Menu seems to display a 30 second cooldown /w Wraith + Omni-Blade w/o Rank 6 but then when I joined a friends lobby the Power Menu stated it had a 25 second regen (no longer accounting for the 50% Weight Increase from theOmni-Blade
Ohhh yeah I forgot the grenade regen was dependant on cooldown. Also the non DLC weapons don't suffer from weight increase of any mods (it's a bug)

Cains. Lots and lots of cains. You can spam them at bosses' feet to melt them, or (as I generally prefer), put them at high traffic spawn locations for lots of kills.
Skip AP (they are either bugged or total crap, do about the same damage as base arrows, and you don't use the bow for damage) and go full Concussive. They'll stagger all gold bosses and send Phantoms and everything weaker flying, so it is a free 'get out of jail' card. Stick a good weapon on him and you're golden.

Huh, thanks mega. Just because I play differently than you (and yet have averaged over 100k consistently on gold with him), I fail a lot? I maxed AP my first time around, and saw absolutely no difference in damage as compared to base arrows. I loaded arrow after arrow into Scions and nothing happened, so that's why I dropped it and haven't bothered with them since. Concussive are great at staggering enemies that overwhelm me, and that's all I need to finish them off with my weapons. Well placed Cains do so much damage nothing else matters tho, so I fail to see how my choice of arrows impact his performance much.

You do know they buffed the Talon Merc.
Haven't gotten a chance to try the new omnibow, but I know how beastly Cains are and after my distasteful experience with AP arrows it will be hard for me to spare the points to try them out again. They didn't even dent gold Scions, or do much to Pyros, and from the numbers I'm seeing on the balance changes I'm still not convinced that they'll do any better. Who knows, may have been a bug (I also couldn't use Ammo Packs that round, so everything may have been really screwy).

Both ignore shield gate and armor DR. GPS ignores phantom's DR BS and is more powerful if not aiming for the head. Graal can land headshots and gets a 3x modifier for them but has a smaller clip, suffers off host, and has a little recoil if fired quickly.
GPS seems most appropriate for the character for burst damage, forgivable clip size, character synergy, and decent CD. Damn I would miss those headshots though.

Silver run: Used: War Fighter Package V, Strength Enhancer I, Power Amp I
I decided to do a test drive on Silver to get in a little practice since I hadn't played Talon much due to the weak bow damage, Honestly, I barely used mines or weapon. The bow was anihiliating all the things. Before the buff it would be some feat to see 'you'[omni-bow]'baddie' in the killfeed. Not so anymore.
Took him for a spin on Gold to see how that would go. Still WOW!!
Used: War Fighter Package V, Strength Enhancer III, Power Amp III, EagleX with Power Amp
Even with this configuration Gold was a piece of cake. I imagine using Hydrolic Joints V will make quite an impact (pun intended) as well. Will try this later.
I feel this char is now Gold/Plat viable. As long as you play it smart (regarding squishiness) you will be a beast that the enemy and those who complain about kill stealers, shall fear.
Thank you BW for the Talon buff. I gotta say, you really did get this one right.

This might be the reason that those two replied like they did, because the bow is almost instant cast even with the charge heavy melee and AP arrows are incredibly strong compared to the tooth picks they were. You can fire 3-5 of the new strong heavy melee AP shots in the time it took to fire 1 of the old weak AP shots! All the buffs add up to some incredible damage potentially on several different targets at various ranges.Tankcommander wrote...

But didn't the APs really actually get a nerf? After all, while you got one extra arrow, each arrow now only does 75 dmg. (Original 4 x 100 = 400, now 5 * 75 = 375). Granted you can shoot faster now, but like I said I didn't notice it damaging armor AT ALL full specced. I only noticed shred damage, and that was very underwhelming.
