Mirror Match Insanity

I tackled Mirror Match a couple of times last night before getting beat down, then having to go to bed. I played them on Blasteroid, I think. I found Soldiers, Adepts and Sentinels easy enough to handle, but man were Vanguards and Engineers a pain.
What strategy did people adopt? What teammates did you use? Any particular map?

The biggest tip I can give you is DON'T let even one flank you. Other than that, focus fire, and if you have an ammo power, use your teammates to trigger as many tech bursts or fire explosions as possible.
There isn't really much difference between clone classes, they all spam powers and if you can avoid getting chain stunned by power spam you're 90% of the way to beating them.

I have used Miranda and Garrus so far. You could use whoever really. Mainly just need to avoid their powers. Note that sometimes they can knock you out of cover if you are right at the edge. It is also a good idea to move away from their spawn when the countdown starts. They approach at different speeds, so that makes it a little easier.

Soldier - Pain Train
Novaguard - Wingman (Full Bonus)

I was using SoldierShep with PPR, Garrus with PPR/BW and Liara with Scorpion/Hornet. Will probably drop Liara for EDI or Miranda, overload is far too useful here.
Thanks for the vids, will watch later.

I also found energy drain to be pretty good as a panic button. Also really found the M-11 Suppressor to be really great, stripping their shields and head shotting them to death.
I did it with Tali/Garrus, just because I like doing stuff with them. Agree on Spin Zone as a map.

As a Soldier, I got a good deal of mileage out of Amplified Concussive Shot. That will make them dodge, stagger, and or light / detonate a fire explosion.HolyAvenger wrote...

Also Suppressor is really an excellent choice on Soldier since you can hit Adrenaline Rush and do a bunch of damage. And time dilation helps land more shots on their heads. Of course, if you are playing with no thermal clips bonus, then it will probably work well for 1 round.
I used Garrus and Liara for the bulk of the missions in the game, but Miranda / Garrus has been more of my standard team at Armax (I suppose that is because they were my default ME2 team). Dual Oveloads is nice since the Spectres will be shielded. If you just want Overload spam though, Kasumi is the best. You just have to map Cloak and Overload to keys and use them in sequence every time.

I had wondered if they are getting full headshot bonuses in a thread I made about the Suppressor. Mainly because I was killing Primes and Banshees extremely quickly with it on Soldier. But I think the main issue is just that Shepard has a lot of damage bonuses and Suppressor is rated at 1500 burst DPS before mods and bonuses...
I also wondered if the Technical Issues match has enemies that don't actually have their full HP, because that is where I noticed that it was most ridiculous.

The first mirror match I did was with Suppressor I (I didn't know that there was an upgrade terminal in Armax, and I didn't go back to Normandy on my first Citadel run). Still, on a Soldier it was very good.Shadowbane1990 wrote...
um...well... nevermind it was appearently a temporary glitch, not sure how I fixed it but atleast my squadmates are actually doing something now. Again sorry for the rant, this glitch really got on my nerves. Also, Suppressor X... Holy Crap if you guys haven't gotten it to level 10 yet What The Heck are you waiting for? Its Over Powered!

The answer is "not exactly."rt604 wrote...
Is the Suppressor effective if you don't hit headshots on a consistent basis? .
Suppressor has 1500 burst DPS at X, which is pretty good before mods and bonuses. However, reload time is a killer on it and sustained drops to 600. So if you can't one-clip, there are better options.
As for the headshots themselves, the main issue is ammo efficiency. The weapon is ok against a humanoid target without headshots, but it will burn through ammo very quickly that way. You need to land the headshots to conserve your ammo for other targets.
On a Soldier, you get time dilation with Adrenaline Rush... that makes it easier to aim (ignoring the fact that it might be awkward if you are transitioning to SP from MP), and the damage boost means headshots do a whole lot of damage. Personally, I really like the Suppressor and think it is one of the better designed weapons in the game.

Btw i love the Suppressor. By far my favorite handgun. Just wish it was a little lighter.

Used a Black Widow Soldier. Garrus/Grunt. AI for mirror matches is f*cked up. I can understand during the fight on the Normandy why the clone ignores the teammates to gun for Shepard, but in the arena it is so stupid to have your squad sitting out in the middle during the whole fight, taking nary a scracth.

Yup. As a level 60 soldier with any bonuses and gear directly put into weapon damage and a Venom V, I was able to burn through banshees, atlas, praetorians and geth primes in about a second. Charge up gun. Pop Adrenaline Rush. Shoot at target (this should leave the target with some armor bars left) and then tell your squadmates to bash the target upon detonation.HolyAvenger wrote...

Personally, I use Javik and Wrex (not optimal though, but I started using them and never fail with them so) and have them toss 1 grenade each which is usually enough, and if it's not, Wrex tends to finish the dying mob off or my next charged Venom blast clears them out.
The mirror match enemies require a bit more, but bombing them hard enough to severely weaken their first wave is not much of an issue. It's just going to require a rapid spawn nuke, then some fast management afterwards.
Insanity is actually fairly simple, but I don't know, I haven't really played Mass Effect 3 on anything but insanity since I started on it on my first playthrough. It's just all... normal.

I did it by switching to my Black Widow. Burst damage is really king in the mirror matches as the clones will simply stunlock you too quickly out of cover. Which is probably why they got rid of shieldgate.
I have no issues with the super-elites, of course. That's simply equivalent to soloing plat, easy enough.
I only played insanity too. I agree it is not very difficult. Mirror Matches are the only fight it took me more than 2 attempts to master. Next I want to solo with all the negative modifiers on.
