My god this thing is ridiculously hard. Being an infiltrator has more than paid off for me, especially in the latter stages of the game. I spend most time being invisible and wreaking havoc on poor unsuspecting bastards. But in the mirror match the thing that does the most damage - the powers, autotarget you no matter if you're cloaked or not, and there's little that can be done to dodge them, plus the recharge time is absurdly low. And god forbid you stick your head out of the cover you get bombarded by 4-5 of them.

I only attempted it for 4 walkthroughs because Shepard's class makes the difference there. It's really too hard for every class but for some classes it's more problematic, for instance an infiltrator. I love playing as an infiltrator but not for the Mirror Match. I want to try it out with an Engineer too and see how hard it will feel then.

It isn't that hard. Cloak in cover pop out with Black Widow. Head shot, fire incinerate while still cloaked bypassing incinerate cool down. Release back into cover. Pop out again and head shot. Back to cover Cloak, head shot, fire incinerate and repeat.
The only trouble I had with infiltrator was if I was caught in the open by more then 1. But the smart thing is to run to the farest spot possible from their spawn point giving you maximum time to pick them off as they advance.
Grunt and Javik make good squad mates to pick for it. Grunt just for tank damage and Javik for Slam which is a good biotic to temporarly disable one guy once shields are down.

Yes the SR is an advantage but they don't let you stay in one place for long; those grenades.... and even if you cloak they still shoot you.
Also I play nothing but Insanity, so I'm talking about the Insanity.
With Vanguard I found it a little bit more easier but you need to be very careful around the other Vanguards as well.

It is quite hard, if you activate any score modifiers it's just downright masochistic even. Widow doesn't do much good for number of reasons: Its major advantage of oneshotting the enemies is mostly gone, since most of the opponents have shields/barriers. Its disadvantages (e.g. slow reload speed, ridiculous recoil, low fire rate) are still there and making things hard for you. Recoil can be negotiated with concentration mod but that just makes low fire rate tediously frustrating (guessing when the gun is ready shoot again can be quite the ordeal), plus there's also the abrupt end of "bullet time" that throws off your rithm if you aim down the sight for too long. I'd recommend Valiant(or Viper if you don't have the DLC) with piercing+extended barrel mods, sure it doesn't look as imposing as Black Widow, but it's more than enough to get the job done. Pair it M-11 suppressor with extended mag(or UL materials if you prefer higher power recharge speed)+high caliber barrel.
Teammates are, for most time ignored by mirror Shepards, so as long as they have counter-shield powers it doesn't really matter. I usually go with Garrus + someone. Deplete the shields - then boom, headshot! Grunt & Wrex spend most of time running around, getting in my LOS and dying, like a lot. They end up doing more harm than good.
Even this way it's a tossup. One slip up, stay in one place too long, take too long aiming and one of the sneaky buggers flanks you, or biotic blast flushes you out of cover and all the hard work goes down the drain.

I've done everything required to complete all missions and get all trophies related to the arsenal max arena. I how ever do not remember if or what modifies are required to be active. But using Black Widow/Tempest I have been able to get them all done. Or maybe it is Widow. Honestly I always get them confused because they are literally the exact same gun. Only difference is one has 3 shots and the other is single shot.
Bullet time shouldn't really effect you as when you ADS the redicle is always going to end up in the center of the screen. This makes it very easy to get the sights on the target's upper body then the bullet time effect from mod letting you move to a head shot quickly and easily.
Picking I think it is train station level gives you access to an area that can only be entered from the front. Has a very narrow firing line perfect for sniper and a little bit of space to back up if you screw up.
Some characters are broken on mirror mode. I think I used Zaeed and Javik because they were one of the ones that were not broken.
Don't get me wrong it took me a lot of tries. Usually because small screw ups on my end snowballed into large screw ups. But I did get it done within an afternoon.

You can dodge the projectile powers they spam, but timing is critical.
Outside of the Black Widow, I probably wouldn't recommend a sniper rifle on any class for the mirror match. Maybe the Javelin or Kishock, but not really any of the others.
The Suppressor is one of the best weapons for this encounter regardless of class. I don't have the Venom in SP, but it is obviously a good choice as well.
I agree that map choice makes a difference, and I agree that Pain Train is good choice.

Do you pick the right squad for the run? I usually pick Kaidan and Miranda to make life easy. Give them Squad Cryo Ammo, they strip Shields and soften armor with Reave + Warp combo.
With Infiltrator, its usually just strip shields and Tactical Cloak + Headshots, concentrate on Biotic Shepard first. And it depends on your play style. I remember someone commenting about my style is a cowardly one since I kill things in long distance and run away when they get near me. But.... that's what a sniper do..... I usually pick up Widow to make it even more difficult for my Infiltrator. Black Widow is more forgivable if you miss a lot but Widow tend to be one-shot kill for me.
Normally, I choose between Kaidan/Miranda/Tali/Kasumi/EDI. Kaidan is my Tank, naturally, I avoid using Garrus for this and he have a lot of powers that have 10+ sec cooldown (Concussive Shot and Proximity Mine).
