After trying for 20 mins and almost throwing my controller at the TV I finally accepted the fact that it can't done. I had to restart the mars mission....an hour of my life wasted.....

This has been known for a while. See:

You can not get past Eva with a fully upgraded Paladin on New Game +.

At least Marauder Shields doesn't make you use the Acolyte, or whatever pistol you have at the time. The rage would be twice as bad.Athenau wrote...

On Insanity, THAT was the hardest frikken part in the game imo.. I had to restart at LEAST 7-8 times while trying so hard to kill the last three husks and the infamous Marauder Shields
. On my second Insanity run, I had to turn it down to casual on just that part. Rediculous..
